A Message from Our Principal A Message from Our Principal

Greetings MCP Lola Rowe North Families:

The temperature outside continues to fluctuate. Even though there are changes in the weather, our expectations do not change. Scholars are expected to be at school no later than 7:55 am. Our doors open at 7:30 am to welcome scholars for breakfast. Morning Assemblies/Circles or classroom circles/meetings begin at 8:00 am and are a vital part of setting the tone for the day. Scholars are also expected to come to school each day in their appropriate uniform attire ready to learn and strengthen their character. Our elementary scholars' uniform includes a red or purple polo with navy blue bottoms. Our middle school scholars' uniform includes a red or black polo with khaki or navy blue bottoms.

Third Quarter Parent Teacher Conferences are being held this week. Classroom teachers have connected with families who are required to have a 3rd quarter conference. If you have not heard from your scholar's teachers and you have questions or concerns, please contact them directly via email or telephone.

This week we began our focus on KINDNESS. Though this is our last TRECK value, ALL OF THEM ARE IMPORTANT!!! We expect to see scholars exemplifying TRUST, RESPECT, EMPATHY, COURAGE and KINDNESS. Kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous and considerate. This week's focus is K.1 - Understands that kindness is contagious. How are you spreading kindness to those around you?

We are also holding COIN WARS this week to fundraise for end-of-the-year activities. Check out the image below for more detailed information. As of today, K5 has collected the most money; however, that could change based on the coins collected for the rest of the week!!! Way to go K5!!!! K4 and 5th grade are not too far behind!!!! As a school, we've already exceeded $100 by just collecting pennies and nickels!!!! I cannot wait to see what our final totals are on Friday!!!

Are you or your child an MCP ALUM? If so, check out the flyer below for our MCP Alumni Block Party on Friday, May 19th!!! Use the QR code in the flyer to register!!!

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me via email kanika.burks@mkeprep.com or via telephone at 414-870-2135.

8th Grade Pictures Requested for the 8th Grade Completion Ceremony

Good Afternoon 8th Grade Families,

I am sending out this notification to remind you that 8th-grade completion is coming up on Friday, June 9, 2023. Every year at completion, a slide show of MCP memories is shown to scholars, families and guests.

To ensure that we are capturing the memories of all scholars, I need the following from each of you:

  1. At least one baby picture of your 8th-grade scholar (baby = under 2 years old approximately).
  2. Any still shots of your scholar and their friends throughout the years at MCP. These pictures can either be printed and sent to school with your scholar (you WILL get them back) or you are more than welcome to text the pictures to 262-565-7485.

Please submit pictures to me no later than Friday, May 5th.

Thank you in advance for fulfilling this request.

More 8th-grade completion information will be coming in the weeks ahead.

If you have questions regarding the photo request, please do not hesitate to contact me via cell or email rebekah.wade@milwcollegeprep.com

Ms. R. Wade

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony - Friday, June 9, 2023

Greetings 8th Grade Families,

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony Requirements (per the handbook)

● All 8th Grade students must submit a high school acceptance letter to the Dean of Culture

● All 8th Grade students must be in good academic standing (failing no more than 2 core academic classes for the year)

● All 8th Grade students must be in good character standing (students falling below 70% of Virtuous Dollars for the year will complete a success plan with Administration to participate in the completion ceremony)

● All Campus Fees must be paid in full/zero balance.

Below is a timeline of events for our 8th grade scholars:

June 1st - Network 8th Grade Great America Trip

May 30th - June 2nd - Senior Week for Lola Rowe North Scholars

  • This will allow 8th grade scholars who are attending the EOY Trip to participate in Senior Week

June 8th - Promotion Preparation Day - NO SCHOOL for 8th Grade Scholars

8th Grade Great America Field Trip - June 1, 2023

**Only 8th grade scholars who maintained 85% of their Virtuous Dollars for Quarter 4 are allowed to attend this trip**

Scholars attending Great America should arrive at their campus at their regular 7:30 am time. Each campus will have its own bus to transport scholars to the park. Buses are scheduled to pick up at 9:30 am. With the park opening at 10:30 am this will provide 15 minutes of wiggle room and 45 minutes for travel time. Once the buses drop off, THEY WILL NOT STAY. They will return for a 6:00 pm pick up to be back at each MCP campus by 7:00 pm.

This year scholars will be in charge of purchasing their tickets to gain entry into the park. MCP will provide an option for scholars to purchase tickets through us. To make this happen, we will need to know the number of tickets MCP would need to purchase. Permission slips will be sent home to scholars who meet the requirements to go, giving parents the option to choose if they would like to purchase a ticket through MCP or on their own. Parents will need to send money back with a signed permission slip for scholars to obtain a ticket.

Please advise parents that Great America DOES NOT accept CASH, so scholars MUST bring a debit card, Cash App Card, or a preloaded debit card for spending money. Scholars are in charge of buying their own food and drink! Staff will not be responsible for scholars who do not come with money. I recommend scholars bring at least $50 for food/drink throughout the day.

Scholars who are NOT attending Great America should stay at home for this day. If a parent decides to bring their child despite not meeting requirements, then they MUST purchase their ticket and stay with their child the entire time. MCP will NOT be responsible for scholars who did not earn the trip and scholars who did not earn the trip are not allowed to be with MCP groups without a parent. MCP Staff who are chaperoning the trip CANNOT act as a parental/guardian for scholars who aren’t eligible to go.

**Only 8th grade scholars who maintained 85% of their Virtuous Dollars for Quarter 4 are allowed to attend this trip**
