From the Principal's Desk

As we enter the final weeks of the 2025-2026 school year, there is an incredible sense of excitement throughout Keyport High School. This time of year is always filled with celebrations, accomplishments, and opportunities to recognize the hard work of our students and staff.

One of the most anticipated events of the year, our Graduation Ceremony, will take place on Tuesday, June 23, at 7:00 PM. Graduation is a special occasion for our seniors, their families, and our entire school community as we celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026 and wish them success in their future endeavors.

In addition to graduation, we look forward to several events that recognize student achievement and excellence. Our various Awards Nights will honor students for their academic, athletic, and extracurricular accomplishments, while the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will welcome a new group of students who have demonstrated outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These events showcase the many talents and successes of our students and serve as a reminder of the pride we have in our Red Raiders.

As the school year comes to a close, students will also be preparing for final exams. Senior exams will take place first as our seniors conclude their high school careers, followed by final exams for our underclassmen. We encourage all students to remain focused, prepare, and finish the year strong.

Looking ahead to next school year, underclassmen will be receiving summer reading and summer mathematics assignments, along with AP assignments, prior to summer break. These assignments are designed to help students maintain and strengthen important skills throughout the summer months. Completion of these assignments is expected, and students should be prepared to submit them when they return to school in September. We encourage families to review these assignments carefully and help students establish a plan to complete them over the summer. In addition to copies being distributed to our students, these assignments can be found on the Keyport High School website.

As we reflect on another successful school year, I want to thank our students, staff, parents, and community members for their continued support. The accomplishments of our students are a direct reflection of the strong partnership that exists between home and school. We look forward to celebrating the many milestones ahead and finishing the year on a positive note.

Go Red Raiders!

Technology Spotlight: AI Continues to Transform Teaching and Learning

Artificial Intelligence continues to evolve rapidly, and many of the tools educators and students already use every day are becoming more integrated with AI-powered supports. Recent updates to Google Workspace for Education are bringing expanded access to Gemini for Education, allowing educators to streamline planning, personalize learning experiences, and create instructional materials more efficiently.

New capabilities across Google tools can support tasks such as generating first drafts of lesson materials, organizing information, creating study supports, and helping users work more efficiently within familiar platforms like Docs, Slides, Classroom, and Drive. Google has also continued expanding NotebookLM and classroom-focused AI tools designed to support responsible and thoughtful use of emerging technology in education.

As AI becomes more present in education, Keyport remains committed to helping students and staff develop the skills needed to use these tools responsibly, ethically, and effectively. Our focus continues to be on using technology to enhance creativity, strengthen learning experiences, and prepare students for a rapidly changing world.

Taking Care of Your Mental Wellness

As we move into one of the busiest stretches of the school year, students are balancing assessments, final projects, performances, competitions, practices, and celebrations. While this season is often exciting, it can also feel overwhelming, making it more important than ever to pause and prioritize personal well-being.

Mental wellness is not about removing stress—it is about building healthy habits that help students navigate challenges successfully. Creating routines, getting enough rest, staying active, taking breaks, spending time outdoors, and connecting with others can all help students stay energized and focused during demanding times.

This is also a reminder that students do not have to manage everything alone. Checking in with friends, reaching out to trusted adults, and asking for support when needed are all signs of self-awareness and resilience. Teachers, counselors, coaches, administrators, friends, and families all play an important role in helping students finish the year strong.

At Keyport High School, we remain committed to creating a school community where students feel supported, connected, and empowered to care for both their academic success and their overall well-being.

Attendance Matters: Every Day Builds Momentum

Every school day matters. Daily attendance gives students the opportunity to engage in learning, participate in discussions, collaborate with classmates, and build the habits that contribute to long-term success. While occasional absences are unavoidable, regular attendance helps students stay connected to instruction and maintain momentum throughout the school year.

As we approach the final weeks of school, we encourage students to remain committed to showing up, arriving on time, and making the most of each day. Consistent attendance supports more than academic growth—it strengthens responsibility, accountability, and routines that prepare students for future success in college, careers, and life beyond high school.

At Keyport High School, we value every opportunity to learn together and appreciate the continued partnership of families in supporting strong attendance habits. Let’s finish the year strong by making each day count.
