Character Day Parade was a big success as our staff and students got into the event and took it to the top. This is a 12 year tradition at Woodard and our kids look forward to sharing their love of reading through their participation.

It is hard to beleive we are already in the month of Novermber. As we prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving Break, let's all pause and look at the many things we have to be thankful for this year. Our students are amazing, our staff is amazing, our parents are amazing, and we are all blessed to serve in this community. Teamwork and collaboration have led us to the "A" rating with all distinction designations that we have achieved. Students, staff and parents had to be ALL IN and work together to achieve this. I am so thankful we get to work at Woodard. We should all truly blessed and thankful.

I get to work with the HR Department at many of the teacher career fairs. This year is no exception as I get to bring back the best of the best teachers to Woodard each year. It is such a valuable experience for me and an opportunity to continue bringing staff on board to continue our culture of excellence.

Our goal everday is to make sure every Woodard Wolf has an amazing academic year filled with learning, growth, fun, and unforgettable experiences!

Let’s keep working together and make this the BEST academic school year EVER!

Dress Code

A student’s dress code must be in compliance with the Cypress-Fairbanks I.S.D. Parents are expected to be knowledgeable and supportive of the dress and grooming guidelines. Please review the Student Handbook to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment for all students that is free of distractions. Students in violation of the dress code will need to have a phone call to the parent for a change of clothes. If the parent/guardian is unavailable, the student may be given a change of clothes from the nurse’s office.

Personal Communication Devices

A new Texas law (House Bill 1481) requires school districts to prohibit student use of all personal communication devices during the school day. Therefore, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is updating its personal communication device policy.

The use of all personal communication devices is prohibited during the school day. Devices must be turned off and stored in the student’s personal bag or backpack at all times.

Please review the law and FAQ below with your student(s) prior to the start of the school year.

Code of Conduct

Parents,

As we continue building a safe, respectful, and positive school culture, we ask that you provide daily reminders and conversations at home about the following expectations:

  • Follow all school and classroom expectations.
  • Show respect to themselves, their peers, teachers, staff, and school property.
  • Make responsible choices that contribute to a positive school culture.
  • Recognize unsafe or concerning behaviors and know how to report them to a trusted adult.
  • Follow all expectations while riding the CFISD school bus, including demonstrating safe, respectful, and responsible behavior.

Our students have reviewed these expectations with their teachers and campus staff, and we are now focusing on putting these expectations into practice every day.

Your partnership makes a difference! Please take a few minutes each day to talk with your student about making safe, respectful, and responsible choices at school and on the bus. Together, we can help our Woodard Wolves make choices that promote a safe, positive, and successful learning environment for everyone!

Parents Right To Know

As a parent of a student at a campus receiving Title I funds, federal law allows you to ask for information about the certification, college major, and advanced degrees of your child’s teacher(s). You also have the right to request information about the qualifications of a teacher, aide or paraprofessional providing direct services to your child. If you would like to receive this information, you may contact the Cypress-Fairbanks I.S.D. Human Resources Department at 281-897-4099.

PBIS PBIS

PBIS is a school-wide approach to discipline for creating safer and more effective schools. The process focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students.

♦ Students are acknowledged for consistent POSITIVE behavior.

♦ Direct instruction, comprehension, and practice of expectations will occur throughout the year.

♦ With PBIS, instructional time is more effectively used for teaching and the overall school environment is calm and conducive to learning.

♦ PBIS allows parents/guardians and Matrices are reviewed and posted throughout the building. Consistent PACK language is used by students and staff to ensure expectations are clear.

♦ Students will grow their social skills and ability to respond to situational stressors positively.

♦ Replacement behaviors will be taught as necessary to ensure the success of the students in school and life!

Bringing Out the Best

Our district implements the Bringing Out the Best program to support character education across all grade levels. This initiative highlights a different character trait each month—such as respect, responsibility, and integrity—reinforcing these essential skills through campus activities, classroom connections, and student recognition. By embedding these traits into the school culture, the program supports the development of well-rounded students while meeting state expectations for character instruction across all grade bands.

SB 10 - Compliance & Facility Standards

Under TEC 1.0041, school districts are required to display privately donated signage of the Ten Commandments when it meets specific statutory criteria.

Our campus is following standard district operations to comply with Texas state law regarding these posters, which are displayed as passive building fixtures and are not designated or approved for instructional use. Available donated inventory is being systematically across dedicated classroom spaces. Because this is managed under a uniform district-wide protocol, any further questions or requests for detailed information are being handled centrally by the Office of the Chief of Staff, and I will be glad to forward your inquiry.

Since these posters are not used for instruction with students, nor are they used as a supplemental aide to teach students, we will refer any student questions to be handled at home with the student's parents.
