Message from GHS Administration
As we enter December, we are excited to celebrate the incredible learning experiences our students have enjoyed so far this school year.
November was an exciting month for our Biomedical Science students! They visited George Mason University’s SciTech Campus to explore a Tier 1 Biomedical Research Lab, one of only 12 in the nation, and learned about advanced safety protocols and disease monitoring. Students also attended a session at Prince William Hospital with the Intuitive da Vinci 5 robotic surgery system, gaining insight into how technology and AI are shaping the future of medicine.
This past week, students in English 10 participated in a powerful virtual experience focused on the history and lessons of the Holocaust, in connection with reading Elie Wiesel’s memoir, Night. The interactive session provided an opportunity to reflect on themes such as human rights, resilience, and the importance of standing against injustice. It is connected deeply with our commitment to fostering empathy and global awareness.
As a reminder, December 9 marks the mid-point of marking period 2. We encourage families to check grades weekly in ParentVUE and discuss progress with students. If you have specific questions, please reach out to your student’s teachers. Staff contact information can be found on the GHS website. Marking period 2 and semester 1 end on January 22.
