Musical Inspiration: I am an avid music listener. When I tell you I listen to it all, I mean it: Opera, Metal, Country Western, Musical Theater, all the way to pop. If I vibe with it, it's on. Many musical genres talk to me. It honestly just depends what mood I am in the day that I write.
When I am writing, music helps me stay focused on what I need to do with these beloved characters and settings! For example, when I write some of the more romantic scenes, I'll have calming music on like jazz or classical. However, if I am doing an EPIC battle scene I need some more exciting music. Perhaps a song from my favorite rock band, Skillet, or an epic musical number from one of my favorite musicals, Wicked!
