Thank You, Families and Parents!

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered or showed up at Run4Funds! Your presence matters! When kids see adults engaged in school activities, it shows that education, community, and their success are important.

Research shows that involved parents help children:

  • Earn higher grades and test scores

  • Graduate at higher rates

  • Develop stronger social skills and self-esteem

Every meeting, concert, classroom visit, or fundraiser you attend helps raise confidence, resilience, and success—for your child and every child in our community.

Where Does the Money Go?
Think PTA just throws events? Here are just a few things your support covers:

Field trips – We pay for buses. Costs have gone up more than 50%
Classroom extras – Teachers receive a budget for enrichment and a boost for supplies.

Want the full scoop? Check out the big poster in the check-in area. It shows how last year’s funds were allocated. Every dollar really does count!

Join Our Facebook Group!

Want the inside scoop on school events? Curious about fundraisers? Looking for ways to help out but not sure how? Our Facebook group is the place to stay connected! 🎉

  • Quick tip: When you request to join, make sure to answer the membership questions. We can’t approve your request otherwise.

  • Middle School parents: List your child’s advisory teacher. This keeps our Quest info within our school family.

Hop in, say hi, ask questions, and discover all the ways you can support our students and school community. Every bit of involvement counts!

King Soopers Rewards

Easiest way to fundraise without even trying!

Help our school every time you buy groceries. This fundraiser takes 5 minutes to set up and is completely passive after that. With about 25% of our families participating, we earn around $1,500 each quarter. Imagine what we could do if more families joined!

Here’s how to sign up:

Our parent volunteers are our rock and help us navigate through the school year with less stress. If you are interested in volunteering, here is how to get your badge and clearance.

We will be asking parents to get their volunteer badges to be chaperones during field trips.

STEP 1: Complete the Screening Process (Background Check). Click Here to be directed to the Aurora Public Schools' website for the screening process.

STEP 2: Fill out the Volunteer form for Mr. Adams, our Family Liaison. He will reach out to you so you can send him a picture of your valid driver's license (front only) and a picture of yourself with a plain background for your badge. Mr. Adams will submit the "Volunteer Approval Form" with both pictures to the Safety & Security Department.

Your volunteer badge will be sent to the school and you will be informed so that you can pick it up once approval from the Safety & Security Department goes through.

Healthy Kids Colorado Survey Coming Sept. 15 - Oct. 9

Aurora Public Schools 6-12th Grade Parents and Guardians:

It is important to understand what is truly going on with the young people in our lives, especially around topics that may be uncomfortable for them to talk about. That’s why APS is proud to join districts across the state in administering a voluntary and anonymous survey to all middle and high school students in an effort to gauge their physical, social and emotional well being.

The Healthy Kids Colorado Survey (HKCS) will help build, enhance and expand programs and practices that improve the health of our youth, not only across our district, but throughout the state. This informative video explains how the HKCS will provide the insight we need to properly address the needs of our youth and support them in powering their potential.

Please note that the survey will touch on multiple health topics including weight, nutrition, physical activity, suicide, violence, bullying, mental health, school safety, tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, drugs, and sexual health. It will also ask questions around youth engagement in their schools and communities. Students are free to skip any questions they don’t fully understand or feel comfortable answering.

You may view the middle school survey, as well as the high school survey. If you wish to opt your child out of participating in the survey, please fill out this Opt-Out Form no later than Friday, Sept. 12. Families may also visit their child’s school to request and complete a printed version of the opt-out form.

The HKCS is supported by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Colorado Department of Human Services, the Colorado Department of Public Safety, the Colorado Department of Education, and an advisory group of state and local partners. It will be administered online during the school day and will be open to schools Sept. 15 to Oct. 9, 2025.

The data collected will be available to the community in summer of 2026. With this information, state leaders will be able to identify the top challenges that students are facing. This will aid district staff including our Mental Health and Counseling team in providing students with proper prevention and support resources.

To learn more about the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey, review the FAQ, visit HealthyKidsColo.org, or contact Healthy Kids Colorado Survey Director Dr. Ashley Brooks-Russell at 303-724-8437.

Thank you for your continued support.
