Announcements
Hello Knights!
Happy Holidays! We have almost finished off the year of 2024! We hope you can celebrate with us on having a successful Semester.
No Food
There is no food allowed in our classrooms. Please help us to minimize the mess in our classes. If we see trash on the ground please pick it up.
Laptops
Currently, we are seeing a growing number of damaged 1-1 laptops being checked in at the high school and would like to remind students and families of the Responsible Use of Technology guidelines. You will find more information listed below in our student handbook pages 27-32.
Report any issues with your device promptly to a parent, teacher, or school official. Do not remove the district barcode or school identification sticker from your device. Do not install, uninstall, or modify any application, game or operating system component without school authorization. Do not deface the device exterior, including unauthorized stickers. Do not leave your device unattended. Secure your device properly in your bag or backpack or in a locked charging station when not in use. Do not leave your device unattended where it could be accidentally damaged by food, liquids, pets, or small children. Do not place items on top of your device. Thank you!

COUNSELING OFFICE ACTIVITIES
During the months of September, October and November, the School Counselors met with 10th, 11th and 12th graders through their Social Studies classes to review their ECAP (Education Career Action Plan). This is a lesson to teach students about graduation requirements and how to plan for their postsecondary goals.
Parents: We encourage you to have a conversation with your student about ECAP. Future planning is critical to ensure that students meet graduation requirements, have knowledge about programs of study and are able to pursue their post-secondary goals. Your involvement is extremely important!
Students can log into Major Clarity using their Havasuonline Google accounts at https://app.paper.co/majorclarity/
FINAL EXAM STUDY TIPS
Final Exams will be given Tuesday – Thursday, December 17th-20th. Final exams are worth 20% of the semester grade. Make sure that you’re checking ParentVue to keep up with your student’s grades. (If you haven’t received log in information for ParentVue, please contact the Counseling Office.) Take advantage of these study tips to help ensure that your student is better prepared in order to do well on their final exams. Good Luck!
- Manage your time. Study your hardest subjects first. Make studying a priority over other activities.
- Take notes written in class and rewrite them at home (most copies are available on Google Classroom). Make flashcards, visual aids, or highlight important points to help you remember. Using your notes or flashcards, quiz yourself or have someone else quiz you. Repetition is the key.
- Read your notes to your parents and “teach” them the material. If you get stuck on something make sure you ask your teacher about it the next day.
- Re-read the chapters and the chapter reviews.
- Get a good night’s sleep: Don’t stay up all night studying the night before.
- Do not wait until the last minute to study. Study a little bit every night for several nights before the test. Don’t cram!
- Find a good place to study. It should be quiet and free of distractions. No TV or social media!
- Eat a light and nutritious meal sometime before the test. Avoid junk food!
- Stay relaxed; take soft deep breaths.
- Think positive thoughts such as “I can do this.”
