November Parent Newsletter
Welcome Back 2026- 2027 School Year
A Message from Our Principal
Spartan Families,
As we welcome November, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and partnership. The encouragement students receive from their families and the care they experience at school help them feel supported, build confidence, and keep growing. We are grateful to work alongside families who care so deeply about their children’s success.
October was filled with opportunities for our students and staff to learn, connect, and celebrate together. From Red Ribbon Week activities that encouraged healthy, drug-free choices to our superhero scavenger hunt for Principal Appreciation Month, our campus community showed wonderful school spirit. These moments remind us that learning happens in many ways and that a positive, welcoming school environment is something we create together.
As we move through November, I encourage students to stay focused on their goals, come to school ready to learn, and continue making choices that reflect kindness, responsibility, and respect. Regular attendance and strong communication between home and school make a meaningful difference. Please continue reaching out to your child’s teachers if you have questions or would like to discuss their progress.
This month also gives us a special opportunity to reflect on gratitude. I am thankful for our hardworking students, our dedicated staff, and the families who support our school each day. Thank you for being an important part of our Spartan family. I wish you and your loved ones a joyful and restful November.
Warmly,
Mrs. D. Cano

Let's Take a Look at our Administration Team!!!
At Rembrandt Secondary, supporting our students takes a team! Our Principal, Assistant Principals, Counselors, College Advisor, and ACE Program Director work together to help students succeed academically, socially, and personally while preparing them for their future.
Whether your family has a question, needs assistance, or simply wants to connect, our team is here to help. We value our partnership with our Rembrandt families and look forward to supporting every Spartan throughout the school year.
Our Spartan Core Values
At Rembrandt, we believe strong character is an important part of every student’s success. Our Spartans are encouraged each day to live by our three core values: Be Safe. Be Respectful. Be Responsible. These values guide how we learn, work together, and care for our school community.
As we move through November, please take a few minutes to talk with your child about how these values can be practiced at school and at home. When students hear consistent messages from the adults who support them, they can make thoughtful choices and help create a positive environment for everyone.
🛡️ Be Safe
At school, students can help keep themselves and others safe by following campus expectations, keeping hands and feet to themselves, walking in the hallways, and telling a trusted adult if they have a concern. At home, families can encourage safe habits, awareness of their surroundings, and thoughtful choices when using technology and social media.
💙 Be Respectful
At school, respect means using kind words, listening when others are speaking, valuing different perspectives, and treating classmates and staff with courtesy. At home, students can practice respect by speaking kindly, helping family members, showing gratitude, and treating others with care.
⭐ Be Responsible
At school, students show responsibility by coming prepared, completing assignments, arriving to class on time, and taking ownership of their actions. At home, they can practice by staying organized, completing chores, being honest, and following through on commitments.
Thank you for partnering with us and reinforcing these values with your child. Every conversation and positive example helps strengthen a school culture where Spartans feel valued, supported, and ready to learn. Together, we can make a positive difference in our school and community.

Class of 2027 parents and guardians!
Dear Parents,
We want to remind you of the importance of completing the 2027–2028 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for your student.
Completing the FAFSA is an important step in helping your student receive financial assistance for college and allows students to be considered for federal and state grants, work-study opportunities, and other financial aid.
Additionally, if your student plans to attend The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), or other college, please remember that the UTRGV scholarship deadline is December 1st for several scholarships!
A completed FAFSA is required for consideration for applicable UTRGV scholarships and financial aid opportunities. We strongly encourage parents and students to work together to ensure the FAFSA is completed and the scholarship application is submitted before the deadline.
Please make sure your student:
- Completes the 2027–2028 FAFSA
Submits their UTRGV scholarship application before the December 1st scholarship deadline
Parents, your involvement and support make a difference! We don't want our students to miss out on valuable scholarship and financial aid opportunities simply because an application was not completed on time.
Let's work together to make college more affordable and help our students take the next step toward their future!
