Canyon Valley School 2025-2026
Dear Canyon Valley Parents & Guardians,
As part of our commitment to prevention education, Gilbert Public Schools (GPS) is offering depression awareness and suicide prevention training through the Signs of Suicide (SOS) Prevention Program. The program is aimed at demystifying the confusion around what constitutes normal development and what may be a potentially serious issue. We invite you to take this opportunity to have conversations with your child(ren) about protective factors and help-seeking behaviors.
Presentations are scheduled for Monday, September 15th.
If you do not wish for your child to participate, please complete the Opt Out Form (attached below) and return it to the front office or email it to our school mental health counselor, christine.desherlia@gilbertschools.net no later than September 10, 2025. If you need a paper copy you can pick one up in the front office. If we do not hear from you, we will assume your child has permission to participate.
