Welcome Back, PBL Community!

We are excited to kick off the 2025–26 school year and thrilled that our students have already had the opportunity to engage in meaningful community-building activities. These experiences allowed PBL students from each grade level to connect, collaborate, and start the year by strengthening our sense of belonging. New students also began working with the tools and resources in our i-studio, taking their first steps toward hands-on learning and creativity. This spirit of connection and discovery will continue as we launch our first design challenge of the year: Let’s Play!

In the week ahead, students will shift their focus to Core Academic classes within the PBL Pathway as we move into our regular PBL Block Schedule. Still, in true PBL fashion, we know that “all work and no play” doesn’t align with our do.learn.thrive motto. That’s why we’re excited for our first Leaving to Learn of the year on Tuesday, August 26th when students will explore a variety of games on the Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade.

Parents, please be sure to sign the permission slip so that all students can participate in this enriching experience. Printed copies will be available in advisory tomorrow.

We hope this quick little adventure will spark inspiration for students as they begin designing their own games.
