Step outside and into a story! Our new Story Walk begins right outside the library's front doors and is about fall leaves. Follow the path to read a book page by page as you enjoy a stroll around the school.
If you're looking for a new listening experience, check out our audiobook display. We've place all our vox books in one fantastic display. They are charged and ready to go for all students and staff.
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we have a special display showcasing the works of Hispanic and Latino authors, artists, and creators. We invite you to explore the rich and diverse cultures and contributions of these communities.
And finally, for all you magic and adventure enthusiasts, don't miss our new fantasy display. It features brand new Harry Potter-inspired decorations, along with a curated collection of fantasy books, from classic epics to modern tales.

Tech Tidbits and Information
Chromebook Troubleshooting Tips
Here's a how-to slideshow with some basic troubleshooting tips for chromebooks. It includes information on how to fix a sideways screen, clearing your cache and turning off accessibility mode.
Vivi Updates - Extended Screen
For those who wanted to extend their desktops instead of mirror your screen you now can! Using the desktop vivi app you can set up multiple screens. Here's a quick how-to from microsoft or please reach out to Kristine to help!
YouTube Update
Elementary students cannot access YouTube as of June 2025. While this has its good points it may create a wrinkle in your teaching if you want students to utilize secondary video sources. But fear not! there is a workaround.
If you want to continue to use YouTube videos and have students access them you can embed them in google slides. If you have any questions about how to embed videos in your slides please reach out to Kristine. :)
Daily Sub Tech Capabilities
New this year, daily subs will use a chromebook issued from the LRC. These devices can connect to Vivi using classlink, however, daily subs do not have the ability to print.
They also do not have access to many Classlink and instructional apps. Please keep this in mind when you are planning an absence.
Below is a snapshot of what you're daily substitute will see in classlink.

Please take a look at my LRC Schedule and comment if you'd like an extra read-aloud in the LRC or your classroom to celebrate!
π A message from the St. Charles Public Library π
Renew your St. Charles Public Library Card!
Current Educator Cards expired on 8-15-25. To renew, you may stop by the St. Charles Public Library and show your current staff ID card OR you may stop by the teacher lunchroom at Richmond on Sept. 17th from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
You will not be issued a new card; your existing card will simply be renewed. If you've moved schools, changed your address, phone number or your name, you will need to share that information with me so that I can update your Educator Card account. Thank you!
π Book Check-In Proceduresπ
Book Return
Please have students bring back their books individually at their next library/check-out time. We will check them in at the self-checkout station at the start of library time.
Books may be borrowed for two weeks before they need to be returned or renewed. D303 does not charge overdue fees but we do charge replacement fines for lost or damaged books.
Students who forget their library books will be able to look in the free book bins near the circulation desk and take one book. It is theirs and does not need to be returned. For each visit, students are able to take one book. The free book section is for everyone, but students who do not return their books can only take a book from this selection during check-out.
Self Checkout - Grades 2-5
Student self checkout ID cards are printed and accessible at the circulation desk. Please keep them at the circulation desk. Grades K and 1 will be able to use the self-checkout with the help of a staff member or LRC staff.
Self Checkout - Staff
At the self checkout station, please use the staff ID card set labeled "Teachers" and scan your ID to check-out books. Returning them is a snap too! Just scan them in at the return check-in station. :)
