Start With Hello Week — September 21–25

Start With Hello Week is a great opportunity to get our students talking with each other, empathizing with others, and taking simple steps to connect and build an inclusive school community.

Throughout the week, students will participate in activities designed to encourage connection, kindness, and inclusion:

  • Meet & Greet Monday: Students will be encouraged to introduce themselves to someone new throughout the school day.
  • Table Talk Tuesday: Students will participate in fun, conversation-starting activities with their classmates to help them get to know one another.
  • Wear Green Wednesday: Students are encouraged to wear green as a symbol of solidarity with Sandy Hook Promise and the importance of creating safe and connected school communities.
  • Positive Affirmation Thursday: Students will have the opportunity to write a positive note or compliment to someone and spread a little kindness.
  • Moving Forward Friday: We will wrap up the week by encouraging students to make a commitment to continue practicing kindness, inclusion, and connection throughout the school year.

We hope Start With Hello Week reminds our students that something as simple as saying hello can make a difference. A welcoming school community starts with each of us taking the time to connect with others.
