Message from the Principal
9/7/2026
Last week was an exciting one at Westview! We cheered on our Wildcats during the first football game of the season against Elgin and launched our after-school tutorials. Both were very well attended, and we appreciate the wonderful support from our students and families.
Although this is a shortened week, there is still plenty happening! Our football team will take on Park Crest on Wednesday, and our volleyball teams will compete against Bohls on Thursday. On Friday, Connally High School will host Middle School Night to celebrate its feeder-pattern schools. Our Westview Band will join the Connally Cougar Band for the evening, and all students and families are invited to attend.
Please remember to check your child’s grades regularly. If you believe your child would benefit from additional academic support, please contact their teacher to discuss attending after-school tutorials. We provide an after school "late bus" on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:15 p.m.
We are also excited to begin our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month on Dieciséis de Septiembre—September 16! Our first student dance of the year will be held on September 25 from 4:00–6:00 p.m. in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.
There are so many exciting things ahead, and we cannot wait to learn, compete, and celebrate with our Wildcats!

Principal, Westview Middle School

Football Concessions Volunteers Needed!
Westview Families—we urgently need your help!
To date, only one parent has signed up to help with PTO concessions at our football games. The money raised through concessions directly supports student activities and celebrations throughout the year. Without enough volunteers, we may not be able to raise the funds needed to provide other exciting events and opportunities for our students.
Please consider giving just a few hours of your time. We truly cannot do this without you! Sign up here:

Thank you for supporting Westview Middle School and our Wildcats!
If you have questions, contact our PTO President, Elena Lewis at eagleelena@gmail.com.
Westview Welcomes Verde Leaders!
We are excited to partner with Austin FC’s 4ATX Foundation to bring the Verde Leaders program to Westview! Verde Leaders combines after-school soccer with leadership development, social-emotional learning, mindfulness, teamwork, healthy communication, and goal setting. Students will participate in twice-weekly practices, community events, and special Austin FC experiences that may include attending matches at Q2 Stadium and meeting Austin FC players and coaches. Participants will also receive an Adidas jersey, and soccer experience is not required!
We will begin seeking students who are ready to grow as athletes, leaders, and teammates. To learn more, please call Westview’s main office, and we will be happy to connect you with the program sponsor.
