BASHAW SCHOOL: MARCH UPDATES
March 13
Mindset is everything.
Scholastic Book Fair - Thank you for your support
A big thank you to our wonderful school community for supporting our Scholastic Book Fair. It was so exciting to see students exploring new stories, discovering favourite authors, and building their love of reading.
Because of your support, our school will be able to add more books and resources to our classrooms and library to benefit all of our students.
Thank you to our families, staff, and volunteers who helped make the book fair such a success. And remember - the best gift you can give a child is time spent reading together.
Jump Rope For Heart
Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped raise money for Jump Rope for Heart. Our grand total is $3595. Your generosity fuels life-saving research, giving families hope and creating healthier futures. Together, we can beat heart disease and stroke—one jump at a time!

WOW! What a show it was. Thank you to everyone who contributed, participated, and supported this show. In total it raised $1695 that will be put toward the Provincials that Bashaw School is hosting in November.
LOST AND FOUND
We are looking to reconnect these items with their owners.
Everything is laid out on tables as we know many will be popping by for the Book Fair tomorrow (open until 4pm).
If you have a chance, please stop by the school to see if anything belongs to you. We will put it out again for Parent-Teacher Interviews and then everything will be bagged up until the end of the year.
On behalf of the Bashaw Rebels Senior Girls Volleyball Team, we are excited to share that Bashaw School has been selected to host the Senior Girls 1A Provincial Volleyball Championship on November 26th to 28th, 2026. As the host school, we are preparing to welcome teams, families, and supporters from across the province. Skills Canada Trades Day
On March 4, our grade 6-9 students participated in Skills Canada Day with a special focus on encouraging girls to explore careers in the skilled trades and technologies. Through the Girls Exploring Trades and Technologies (GETT) program, female students had the opportunity to “test-drive” potential careers by completing four hands-on Try-A-Trade® activities in Sheet Metal, Woodworking, Aesthetics, and Refrigeration. Each activity included materials, safety equipment, and female-led tutorial videos, helping students gain practical skills while highlighting the many opportunities available to women in industries where they have traditionally been underrepresented.
While this exploration was taking place in the classroom, boys in grades 6–9 travelled off campus to learn about local trades by visiting businesses such as OK Tire, Bashaw Meats and Sausage, and Bashaw Concrete where they observed real-world applications of skilled trades in their community. Overall, Skills Canada Day provided students with valuable opportunities to explore different career paths, learn new hands-on skills, and gain a greater appreciation for the important role that skilled trades play in our communities.
