Book Week

Next week we are celebrating Book Week here at Queen of Apostles with many great activities planned for the students. Next Tuesday we are asking all our students (and staff) to dress up as their favourite book character or align with the theme of 'Dreaming with eyes open'. The students have a parade around the hall at 9.00am to show off their costumes to rest of the school. It should be loads of fun!

We are also lucky to have Author/Illustrator Kylie Howarth in the library conducting workshops with students from Pre Primary through to Year 6 on this day.

I thank Mrs Peach in the library for organising these fantastic experiences for our students.

Tournament of Minds

Good luck to our students competing in the Tournament of Minds at ECU Joondalup on Saturday. Mrs Anderson has worked very hard to prepare the students and I thank her very much for this. I look forward to hearing how they went next Monday.

Year 2 Assembly

Next Friday (2nd September) at 8.50am in the hall the Year 2 class will present their assembly item to the community. I know they have been working really hard and I'm looking forward to seeing them in action. It will also be great to see our Year 2 families come and support the class.

COVID Portal

It is still vitally important that parents and caregivers inform the school if their child tests positive for COVID-19.

Parents and caregivers can inform the school of their child’s positive or negative COVID result via this LINK - https://cewa-collections.powerappsportals.com/COVID-19-Self-Reporting-Form/

The information will go directly to me.

If a positive result is recorded via a RAT test it must also be registered on the WA Health RAT register website -

https://datalibrary-rc.health.wa.gov.au/surveys/index.php?s=WDLLNTW4RDX8AWPH

Please do not underestimate the importance of informing us of a positive COVID case. Your actions will ensure the risk to others is minimised and that we do our very best to limit the spread of the virus across our community.

Library News - Book Week

This Term during week 7 we will be celebrating The Children’s Book Council of Australia – Book Week. The theme for this year is “Dreaming with eyes open…”. On Tuesday, 30 August we will be conducting our annual book week dress up day. It would be fabulous to see as many students as possible dressed as a book character. The character can align with the 2022 theme or any children’s book. A parade for the students will be held at 9am in the hall.

On the same day we will have Author/Illustrator Kylie Howarth in the library conducting workshops with students from Pre Primary through to Year 6. We are very excited that she is available to come to our school and we look forward to hearing about her experiences writing and illustrating children’s books.
