Dear GLOBE community,
We are already one week into the school year and students have been busy settling into their schedules at both campuses. We are pleased to included a few images taken earlier today. Students enjoyed P.E. and recess at Lower Campus, while music and art was the order of the day at Upper Campus. Please read through the news and notes below.
Lower Campus notes
We are looking for volunteers to assist with morning carpool drop-off
We’re looking for 2 - 3 parent volunteers each morning to be extra car unloaders. Ideally you’d be able to commit to a schedule such as “every Monday”. Hours are 7:20am to 8:00am. If interested, please email Ms. Blunt.
Carpool afternoon pick-up
Please do not line up for afternoon pick-up before 2:20pm. This applies to both the parking lot and the nearby streets (Azalea Circle and North Druid Hills). Thank you.
Lower Campus Clinic
Please ensure that your child has a full set of clothing (to include underwear and socks) in their book bag, regardless of grade level. Nurse Kate does not have storage for a large quantity of spare uniforms this year. If your student comes into the office and needs a change of clothes, there is a chance you may receive a phone call for pickup. Thank you.
Upper Campus notes
Carpool afternoon pickup
Please do not line up for afternoon pickup before 3:15pm. Thank you.
Upper Campus Clinic
Updated immunization records will be requested by the District (for school age students) to remain compliant (in school) next month.This is just a friendly reminder to schedule follow up or annual physician appointments for the 2025-26 school year.
Emergencies can occur while in school. If your child will need an inhaler, epi-pen or any emergency medication for the school year, please refer to the website for further documents required. You may contact UC Nurse for appropriate documentation/medication needed while on campus during school hours as well.
Lastly, students are slowly getting acclimated to their schedule/classes/daily activities. Many students are forgetting to hydrate during the school day. Please make sure your child has a water bottle/hydro-flask for hydration (water/electrolytes) during the day.

Chorus - Calling all 3rd though 8th grade GLOBE families

Transportation
GLOBE's Transportation Ridership Program provides morning and afternoon bus transportation between a satellite hub and the Lower and Upper GLOBE campuses. The hub is located at the Exchange Recreation Center : 2771 Columbia Dr, Decatur, GA 30034. Please note: The bus for Lower Campus is currently at capacity, but you can still add your name to the waitlist.
Parent Teacher Community Council (PTCC)
The PTCC welcomes you to the new school year. We are excited about all the events and activities we are planning. We need you!

A special thank you to our volunteers of the month, Nicolet Webber and Ann Teh. We are thankful for all that you do for GLOBE. Each family is requested to volunteer 10 hours per year. Join us for some sweet treats at Upper Campus on Thursday, August 21, from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.
Please note: We hope to celebrate our new campus with you in a few weeks – be on the lookout for the Lower Campus date soon!
Spirit Night at Chop’t Toco Hills, on Thursday, August 28
Chop’t Toco Hills welcomes The GLOBE Academy for spirit night from 10:30am to 8:00pm. This means families and staff members can grab lunch or dinner. GLOBE will receive 20% of proceeds.

Athletics
GLOBE's athletic department has been busy with Fall sports tryouts this week. We had an amazing turnout of young athletes. Soccer - 62, Volleyball - 55, Cross Country - 40, and Ultimate - 20. Parents will receive a notification email by Sunday. Practice days next week will be the same as tryout days this week. Thank you for your continued support!

The yearbook is only as good as the pictures in it. We want your photos! We NEED your photos!!!
We especially would like: Photos of ANY GLOBE sporting event. If you go to a game during the year, please take pictures and send them to us.

Development Committee looking for volunteers
GLOBE's Development Committee is looking for volunteers to help support their fundraising efforts. Whether you have a few hours a month or more to give, your time and talents can make a big impact.
