Lunch Visitor Reminders Lunch Visitor Reminders

All lunch visitors will eat with students in the newly gated picnic area at the front of the school. Lunch visitors are not permitted in the cafeteria or any other campus areas.

  • Visitors are encouraged to arrive 5–10 minutes before the student’s lunch time.
  • Visitors arriving more than 10 minutes late will not be allowed to stay for lunch. Your child will be sent to the cafeteria to get a lunch at that time.

  • All visitors must sign in at the front office with a valid photo ID. Only people listed on a child’s emergency contacts can eat lunch with a student.

  • Visitors will sign out their student for lunch via the laptop in the lobby. (This is not the same as checking your student out for the day; it will not count against your students' attendance).

  • Students must be signed back in at least 5 minutes before lunch ends to allow time to rejoin class without disruption.

  • Please refer to the Lunch Times posters and follow your students' lunch times.

  • If you choose to visit your child for lunch, they may or may not be able to participate in after-lunch recess.

  • Visitors who remain past the designated lunch end time will receive warnings, and repeated violations (3) will result in loss of lunch visitation privileges.

  • Adult lunches will no longer be sold. Visitors must bring their own lunch.

  • School aged students are not permitted to eat with younger siblings if it is during their own school day.

  • Space is limited- first come, first served. If the seating area is full, you are welcome to eat in your car with your child. AT THIS TIME, WE ARE ONLY ALLOWING 2 ADULTS PER STUDENT, TO ALLOW SPACE FOR ALL OF OUR GUESTS.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and for helping ensure these expectations are followed consistently.

Breakfast Info

Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. - 7:55 a.m. If you want your child to eat breakfast here at school, the best time to drop them off is between 7:30 - 7:40. We have some students arriving at 7:55 and wanting to eat breakfast, unfortunately by the time they get to the cafeteria breakfast is closed. If you have any questions, please contact the front office.

Can I just drop off my child's lunch?

  • The quick answer is no.

BISD policy restricts lunch drop offs for students. Our front office staff needs to remain vigilant while monitoring lunch time guests and activities. Lunchtime deliveries take away from our ability to ensure each child’s safety, and they have the potential to disrupt instruction time. You are always welcome to bring lunch and eat with your child. Additionally, we cannot accept food deliveries for students from Door Dash, ASAP, Dominoes, Panera, etc.

Important Information about Water Bottles at school

Water bottles should be flip-style or closable lid. Water bottles with only a straw (Stanley Cup style) are not permitted due to leaking.

Parent Reminder: Modeling Digital Citizenship on School Social Media Parent Reminder: Modeling Digital Citizenship on School Social Media

Our school’s social media pages (Facebook, etc.) are meant to be welcoming spaces to celebrate our students, highlight achievements, share important announcements, and build a strong school community.

As adults, we play a crucial role in modeling constructive online behavior for our children. We kindly ask all parents and guardians to help us maintain a positive and respectful online presence by following these guidelines:

  • Model Kindness & Respect: Treat other community members, staff, and students with the same courtesy online that you would in person.

  • Keep Concerns Private: If you have specific questions, concerns, or constructive feedback regarding a school policy, teacher, or administrative decision, please reach out directly to the school office or administration via phone or email rather than posting on public comment threads. Public forums are rarely the best venue for resolving individual issues.

  • Protect Student Privacy: Avoid sharing sensitive personal details, full names of other children, or private situations in public comments.

  • Pause Before Posting: Before leaving a comment or sharing a post, ask yourself if the message is helpful, respectful, and sets a positive example for our students.

Thank you for partnering with us to create a safe, supportive, and encouraging digital environment for our entire school community!

Parent Questions, Concerns, and Conferences Parent Questions, Concerns, and Conferences

In order to ensure timely communication and action, if there are concerns or questions in your child’s classroom please contact the teacher FIRST. They will be able to answer your questions and address any of your concerns. Allow the teacher the opportunity to communicate with you and your student first. Teachers and staff will answer emails during school hours 8:00-4:00. If the teacher, student, and parent cannot come to an agreement or resolution, please schedule an appointment with your child’s Assistant Principal and teacher. We all want the BEST for each and every student. Let’s all work together to positively support one another for our students’ success.

Updated Attendance Procedures Updated Attendance Procedures

Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and students are tardy at 8:05 a.m., announcements will begin at 8:00 a.m. It is important that your child is in their classroom by 7:55 a.m., so they can begin their day.

It is required by law that your students (PK-5) come to school and be on time. Once you hit 3 absences, expect to start receiving attendance letters and possibly meeting notices.

This year, we are replacing the Attenedance email with a form for absence notes. Please use the form link or the QR code to submit all absence notes, doctor's notes, or any other attendance documents. If you have attendance questions, please contact our Attendance Clerk, Crystal Zuniga.

Why Does Attendance Matter?

Getting back into the habit of daily attendance matters more than ever. Going to school is an opportunity for your student to:

● Build routines that help reduce stress.

● Connect to their friends and teachers.

● Engage in learning.

When students attend regularly, they are much more likely to read proficiently by third grade, do well in middle school and graduate high school.
