RMS MondayMessageOctober 25, 2021

Hard work pays off!

Our students have been working hard to achieve success this quarter. Modified fall sports are coming to an end and winter sports are gearing up. In order for students to participate in these extra-curriculars, they must be registered on Family ID. The dates for Parent Teacher Conferences have been announced and will take place in a virtual platform. More information about conferences will be sent in the coming weeks! With four weeks until the quarter ends, students should connect with teachers and find time to attend extra help sessions. The teachers' extra help schedule is linked below. Parents, in alignment with the district's communication goals, we would also like to know your preferred method of contact in order for us to communicate with you effectively. Please take the time to fill out the google form linked below.

Mindfulness for Students

RMS wants to encourage students to learn mindfulness techniques which can help some students manage their emotions in a constructive way. Mindfulness is a big word for a simple idea - "paying attention." We will begin to highlight some of our favorite strategies in the next few editions of this newsletter. Parents and caregivers can practice these simple strategies at home and help their students identify the moments when using these techniques can be beneficial. Take a look at the first strategy in our series: Elevator Breathing!
