💙 Welcome Back, Barron Families!

We hope you had a wonderful Fall Break and a joyful Thanksgiving surrounded by loved ones. As we return, we are excited to continue a strong finish to the semester and prepare our Pioneers for success.

📚 Assessment Season Begins

This week, students will begin RLA and Math MAP Growth testing, followed by our 9-week Common Assessments next week. These assessments help us understand how much students have grown and what support they need. We kindly ask for your help in ensuring:

  • Students get plenty of rest the night before

  • Students are on time and ready to learn

🏐 Volleyball intramurals – Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will participate in Volleyball events on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week!

📖 Tutoring Continues Through December 18

Please continue to send your child to tutoring if they are invited. Every session helps them build skills and confidence before the next assessment window.

🏆 Campus Goals & Progress

We are proud to share the following campus updates:

  • Attendance: Holding strong above 94%

    • Kinder currently has the lowest attendance. Fridays is the day with the lowest attendance.

    • Please help us promote consistent attendance—RIGHT HERE. RIGHT NOW!

🎓 Instructional Leadership Update

This week, our Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) will meet with grade-level leaders (PK–5th) to strengthen systems, support instruction, and expand leadership capacity.

Teams will focus on:

  • Implementing Lead4ward strategies

  • Internalizing High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM)

  • Using Archetype 4 to address learning gaps and accelerate mastery of key TEKS

🏫 Resetting Routines & Expectations

After a long break, students will take a few days to reset and reestablish routines.

Thank you for reinforcing home–school expectations with your child—it truly makes a difference.

We have 14½ school days until Winter Break—just enough time to make meaningful growth.
As we say at Barron: A 1° change in effort can create BIG change! 💯💙

🎄 December Events

We have many exciting activities planned for your children this month! SEE CALENDAR
Your support through attendance, encouragement, and involvement is greatly appreciated.

We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to a joyful month of December as we close out another wonderful year at Barron Elementary—Where Pioneers Learn and Belong.

#Reaching New Heights in Learning! Batter Up

"It starts with US!"

THANK YOU, PIONEER MILITARY FAMILIES! ❤️🤍💙

Our Red, White & You Social was pure magic, and it’s all thanks to our incredible military-connected families who came out to celebrate with us!

Huge gratitude to:
- Grand Canyon University for sponsoring all the food, snacks, and drinks
- Ft. Bliss School Liaison Office & MWR for powerful resources, the outdoor American flag Barron received in August, and 90 toy microphones that were a part of our trivia prizes
- El Paso MEPS for joyfully running game booths and engaging with our families
- And the amazing Dr. Torres Cheer Team for an unforgettable debut performance! 📣

This night was a community collaboration from Barron Elementary, Dr. Torres Elementary, and your Military Family Liaison, Ms. Chavez.

Happy Military Family Appreciation Month — we are SO grateful for you and can’t wait to do it again! 🇺🇸

🍪Family Baking 🍪

One of my favorite traditions in December was making cookies with my grandmother. This year I found a new and fun way to make chocolate chip cookies and want to share this un-bear-ably cute recipe with you!

This is a perfect recipe to get your pioneer involved in! Best part? This recipe only requires chocolate chips and pre made cookie dough!
