Dear Howard Families,
It is an honor to join the Howard Elementary community and to serve your children as the new principal beginning this August.
This opportunity holds special significance for me, as I grew up right here in the Medford School District. After earning a mathematics degree from the University of Portland and spending several years in the actuarial field, I felt called to education and returned home to Medford. Over the past 18 years, I’ve been fortunate to serve in a variety of roles at MSD: from GED instructor and elementary teacher, to instructional coaching. Most recently, I have served four years as the principal of Abraham Lincoln Elementary. I am deeply passionate about helping students discover their potential and grow into the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and changemakers.
Outside of school, life is filled with joy with my husband of 22 years, Randal, and our five children. We have four boys and one girl, ranging in age from 7 to 16. This past fall we added seven baby chicks to our family, and our newest addition is our puppy, June. I enjoy cooking, gardening, reading, and spending time outdoors with my family.
I look forward to getting to know you and your students in the months ahead!
With Gratitude,
Ashley Nichols Lee
