Reminder from the Dean’s Office

This is a friendly reminder of several important school expectations. Your support and cooperation are greatly appreciated as we work together to maintain a safe, respectful, and productive school environment.

1. School Uniform and Dress Code
All students are expected to arrive at school in complete uniform and follow the school’s dress code policy. Masks and unauthorized headwear continue to be areas of concern. Students who violate the dress code policy will have prohibited items confiscated, and a parent meeting will be scheduled as necessary.

2. Punctuality and Excessive Lateness
Please encourage your child to arrive at school on time each day. Tardiness negatively affects students’ discipline grades. Students who arrive extremely late will have points deducted, and their cell phones will be collected at the front door in accordance with school procedures. EL students must serve detention on the same day.

3. Loitering in Center City After Dismissal
Loitering in Center City after dismissal has become a significant concern. We are working to identify students who repeatedly violate this expectation. Parents or guardians of students who are habitual offenders will be required to attend a meeting with the school.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of the many after-school clubs and activities available to them. Students who are not participating in an approved after-school activity are expected to leave the area and go directly home after dismissal.

Please speak with your child about these expectations and reinforce the importance of making responsible choices. Your partnership is essential in helping us promote student safety, accountability, and success.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

New State Requirement: All seniors are required to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form as soon as possible. This is a Pennsylvania state graduation requirement. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Shoemaker at shoemakerk@petchs.org. When you finish your FAFSA, please do not forget to complete the PHEAA application. This application gives you access to PA State aid.

College Applications: Please make sure you get your applications in before Thanksgiving break. This gives you the best chance for admission and priority for financial aid consideration. Also, please make sure your Common Application is linked to your Naviance account. If you are not sure whether this has been completed. please see or email Ms. Shoemaker.

CSS Profile Form: In addition to the FAFSA and PHEAA financial aid applications, some schools require families to complete the CSS Profile. This is a more detailed financial aid form and each school has its own deadline for this form. Please check the CSS Profile site to see if any of your schools require it. https://profile.collegeboard.org/ppi/participatingInstitutions.aspx
