Dear Families,

We still need lunch volunteers! Next week we need Monday and Thursday covered! It would also be great if we could get the first week back (January 2-5) covered before we head out for vacation. If you can help out for one or more meals, please contact Samantha or me asap. If you know someone who is not directly involved in the school but might be interested in helping out, please reach out to them.

Engineering has been so much fun. The twelve teams’ designs are very imaginative and distinctive. Students will begin testing them Friday to see how well they maintain a comfortable temperature under a heat lamp and outside in the cold. Based on the data they collect, they may decide to make changes in their design. Monday will be their last building session. All of the houses will be on display in the Common Room, Monday, December 18, 9:00-10:30. We hope you can stop by and see them.

Reminder - Free Monthly Family Program: Julie Hayyat and Amber Bragg will be offering family program series starting January 11, 5:30-7:00. The program is based on the Strengthening Families curriculum. The program outline are linked here. The program is limited to 15 families, so it is important that Weybridge families sign up asap for the series. Children and caregivers will start with having supper together (food provided) and then split into two groups, caregivers with Julie and children with Amber, to work on related skills and then come back together for a short activity. Please contact Samantha or Christina to sign up.

Progress reports and upcoming conferences - We will be holding parent-teacher conferences between January 16th and February 9th for families to meet with teachers to discuss their child's January progress report. We are putting the finishing touches on a revised progress report that will show student progress towards grade level standards and the IB Approaches to Learning. Progress reports will be sent home on January 12th. We will be reaching out in early January to set up conference dates and times for all families. .

Ice Skating Rink - Prep work is underway! Watch for more news. Contact Tim Berthiaume if you are interested in helping out with getting it set up and maintenance.

Exchange of gifts - Any gift exchanges among students should happen outside of school. Thank you.

Please know that each week Barbara updates the form and so you can only place the order starting on Friday for the following week. Orders should be in before 7:30 am Monday morning for the week.
