Principal Message Principal Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

A close to another exciting week of fun, travel, and learning at Wildwood School has come to a close.

Tuesday we had an excellent breakfast from Evansburg Bakery. And the kids needed the energy for the Ninja Course that followed. After a quick shift from outside to inside due to smoke, students got a chance to practice a number of skills. Lots of Fun was had.

It was also on Tuesday that our Grade 6 class took a trip over to Grand Trunk School to get a tour of their space for next year. Don't worry they all made it back in time to do the ninja course.

Wednesday, we had our last picnic in the gym. It has been great to see our students from different grades come together, and have parents join us. Thank you to Mrs. Riggs for organizing this event all year.

After school on Wednesday the last School Council Meeting of the year was held. Of note for all students is the grade splits for next year. We will be running 4 classes: a K/1 class, a 2/3 class, a straight grade 4 class, and a 5/6 class. Just note that this is subject to change if we were to have a significant change in our student body numbers or composition. You will also find our new supply lists below, there have been some changes from previous years.

Over the last few weeks students in the k/1, 2/3, and 3/4 classes have been watching the development of butterflies. This week they were released into the wild.

Grade 6 PATs are well on their way, we have completed 3 of the 5 writings and will be finishing on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Wednesday we will also be having pizza for hot lunch. On Friday the 20th we will be recognizing Indigenous Peoples Day.

With so many events going on I can only include a few pictures of each. For more pictures please go to our school Facebook page.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Sincerely,

Alan Stoyles

Principal

Attendance Update Attendance Update

Our automated safe arrival system has been running for a few weeks now. We are gong to make a slight update. Rather that emailing the teacher or Mrs. Vankosky directly we have created a central email. wwabsence@gypsd.ca We are asking that parents who email in absences begin using this email address as it allows us to ensure updated attendance even when teachers of the secretary is away.

Spotlight on School Success: Importance of Field Trips Spotlight on School Success: Importance of Field Trips

Field trips are often viewed as just something that are only for fun. While fun is had, there is also lots of learning that is best done by going out into the world and experiencing things. This year we have been lucky to partner with a number of local groups and locations to have our students learn in the community. We appreciate the work that teachers, parents and community partners put into supporting our kids.
