August 2026
Back-to-School Edition
Welcome Back!
Welcome to a new school year! I am excited to join the McAndrew Elementary family and look forward to partnering with our students, families, and staff. My goal is to help every child feel safe, valued, and successful. Throughout the school year, students may participate in classroom guidance lessons, individual counseling, or small group counseling designed to support their academic, social, and emotional growth. I can't wait for a wonderful year together!
This Month in Guidance
During August, students will be getting to know the counseling program and learning how the school counselor can support them throughout the year.

One of the best ways to help children have a successful school year is by establishing consistent routines. Regular bedtimes, morning routines, and time to talk about the school day help children feel confident and prepared for learning.

Book Spotlight
The Kissing Hand

This heartwarming story reminds children that the love and support of family stays with them throughout the school day. It is a wonderful book for easing first-day jitters and building confidence.
