YOUR VOICE MATTERS
In this week’s Charting the Course, Superintendent Adams continues our focus on Highly Engaged Family, Community and Business Partnerships and the many ways families help strengthen our schools.
Thank you to the parents and guardians who took time to connect with their child’s teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences. These conversations give families and educators the opportunity to celebrate student progress, discuss areas for growth and work together to support each child’s success. We appreciate your partnership and encourage you to keep those conversations going throughout the school year.
A special thank-you to our PTA for organizing the Trunk or Treat celebration and to everyone who contributed, volunteered or attended! Whether you decorated a trunk, donated treats or brought your family to enjoy the festivities, you helped create a welcoming opportunity for our Piper community to come together.
Families play an important role in shaping the future of our schools. Building site councils offer parents and guardians an opportunity to share feedback, ask questions, discuss school priorities and collaborate with building principals. Your experiences and ideas help us better understand what is working well and where we can improve the experience for students and families.
You don’t need a background in education to participate, just an interest in supporting our schools. If you’re interested in joining your building’s site council, please contact your building principal.
TRUE NORTH AWARD
Help Us Recognize Someone Who Makes Piper Special
At the heart of Piper USD 203 are the dedicated people who make a difference for our students, schools, and community every day.
The True North Award gives students, families, staff, and community members an opportunity to recognize a Piper employee who consistently goes above and beyond.
Maybe it is a teacher who believed in a student when they needed it most. Perhaps it is a coach, counselor, paraeducator, bus driver, secretary, custodian, administrator, or another staff member whose commitment makes Piper a better place.
So many people across Pirate Nation quietly make a difference. This is our opportunity to shine a light on their contributions, and we need your help identifying those deserving individuals.
A colleague said, "Officer Dave is an essential part of our staff at Piper Prairie. He takes time to build meaningful relationships with the students. Dave goes to different grade level recesses to talk and play with students. He even attends student events outside of school time. They know he is an adult they can trust and count on! Dave has also taken the time to build strong rapport with parents at our school. He takes pride in his position at Prairie and has even been known to come in on his days off to help with important situations. Dave is loved by his colleagues and students at Prairie! We are very lucky to have Dave as our resource officer!"
