Good Morning Memorial Families,

I hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving break. I always love the sentiment of the Thanksgiving holiday and try to soak up the calm before the busy month of December in school. December is a busy month and all of the holiday parties, special seasonal outings and the excitement of the season can make our students a little out of routine. In school, we try hard to keep our routines consistent and predictable which helps us all stay a bit more focused.

It's the time of year where I like to remind families of the routines for the start and the end of the day. We ask that if you have a different person picking your child up that they be familiar with the routine as well so that we can maintain a safe environment. Here are a few brief tips:

1. Please have a sign in the front window of your car at pick up in the afternoon with your child's first and last name.

2. Please remain in line and do not pass any cars- even if you are in a rush and the person in front of you is taking a little more time.

3. Please remain IN your car (the only exception are our preschool families). Your children should be proficient with buckling and unbuckling themselves at this point in the school year. If you have an extenuating circumstance please let us know.

4. In the morning, please do not park your car and walk your child in. You should be using the drop off line unless you are a walker from a surrounding neighborhood.

We've also noticed an uptick in students arriving after 9:00am. We begin instruction at 9:00am, and so if your child is arriving late, they are missing the opportunity to begin their school day with their class in a calm way. Please do your best to arrive before 9:00am to allow your child the best start to the day.

I hope everyone enjoys a wonderful FIVE day school week!

Warmly,

Wendy

School Hours

Our school hours are 8:45am-3:15pm. Drop off begins at 8:45 and students who arrive after 9:00am are considered tardy. We will begin dismissal right around 3:15pm.

Due to the hectic nature of the late afternoon, we will no longer be allowing parent dismissals from the main office after 2:45pm. If your child has an appointment, please plan to dismiss him/her earlier, or make use of our pick up line at 3:15pm. Thank you for understanding.
