Rushing Staff Update
October 24, 2025
Halloween week...
Rushing Staff,
Next week is going to be fun - Red Ribbon Week. Ms. Baudendistel and Ms. Mah have done a great job with Hope Squad in planning for the week. See the flyer below with some information about staff getting prizes for participating in dress up days.
We've heard plenty of 6-7....Great shirt Ms. Whitman to turn it around into something historical! I bet they remember that now.
Don't forget, if you have not already, to invite an Admin to your lesson incorporating small group instruction.
Also, picture retakes are Tuesday, October 28th. If you did not get your picture the first time around, be sure to have your picture taken this time.
We received a number of Parent to Staff Shout outs. See those submissions below. Thank you for all you do.
Let's make this a great week! Go Raptors!
Staff Shout Outs
Coach Millsap - Way to care for our students by going to the hospital to check on and be there for an injured student. Both you and Coach Faber set a great example for others by how you care for students. Thank you for the extra mile you travel. This is Us. This is Rushing!
Mr. Tempel - Great job getting Student Council started. The first meeting of the year was awesome and students were excited for the year. Thank you for the experiences you are providing those students. This is Us. This is Rushing!

Staff to Staff Shout Outs - This is Us. This is Rushing!
Rushing Athletics Coaches- Shoutout to our amazing athletic coaches for putting together a fantastic night of football and volleyball with our sixth-grade students! It was such a fun evening watching our 6th graders get involved, show their enthusiasm for sports, and get excited about joining athletics next year. A special highlight was seeing our older students step into coaching roles to lead and support our younger athletes.
I also loved seeing some of our Rushing alumni back on campus! Thank you to everyone who made the night so special!!! (from Bev Giacomazzi)
Kelley Nelson- Kelley, thank you for your incredible foresight and preparation! Your planning for the possibility of system outages truly paid off. Having preprinted copies of all student schedules ready ensured that we could continue operating seamlessly, when our systems were down today. Because of your attention to detail and proactive thinking, what could have been a stressful situation turned into business as usual. We’re so grateful for your preparedness and dedication to keeping things running smoothly! (From Toni Primack)
Rushing Parent Shout Outs to Teachers
In the latest Raptor Report, I sent out a link for parents to send uplifting messages to teachers. Students will often go home and report to their parents about the awesome things you do. Each week I will post these so you can be encouraged by parents whose children you impact.
Ms. Giacomazzi
Ms. Giacomazzi has been incredibly supportive and patient with my son. She takes the time to understand his needs and encourages him with kindness and positivity. Her cooperative attitude and calm approach have helped him feel more confident and comfortable at school. She truly cares about her students’ progress and emotional well-being, and that has made a big difference for my son. (Abdelaziz)
Coach Shults
Bella says Ms. Shults is the reason she enjoys Science and would rather her teach her than anyone else. She said she explains things to her in a way she understands and always packs a ton of patience! (Akinwumi)
Ms. Richard
Thank you for always staying on top of UIL deadlines and supporting us in extracurriculars like spelling bee. Your effort and dedication mean a lot and truly made a difference! (Vijayakumar)
Coach Edwards
Coach Edwards is an excellent cross country coach. She encourages athletes and students by pushing them to the next level with her special motivation skills. She also is an excellent communicator with parents and mostly, follows through on her recommendations! Thank you Coach Edwards for coaching Samuel! (Joo)
Mr. Clements
He shows happiness and brings energy to the classroom. He’s always nice and can put a smile on anyone’s face. he also promotes kids to answer and ask questions (Ribas)
Ms. Denovellis
Thank you for making class so fun. Kellen loves the book you are reading and loves to discuss it at dinner at night. Thank you for all you do. (Jones)
Ms. Ali
Tristan recently was out for a week very ill and Ms.Ali went above and beyond to make sure he was able to complete his end of nine weeks project and check in on him throughout the week. It was great to have a teacher care so much.(Colman)
Ms. Lamoreaux
Ms. Lamoreaux has been proactive with getting to know Mithila’s needs and wants. She has made Mithila’s transition into middle a breeze and has genuinely taken the time to understand Mithila’s personality. As parents of a child with special needs, we need communication and I get that from Ms. Lamoreaux. We would like to thank her from the bottom of our hearts for being supportive and look forward to working with her. (Sharma)
Ms. Rose
Ms. Rose is my Daughter's Honors math teacher. Wanting to say a big thank you for helping my Daughter and providing a fun and stable learning environment! My Daughter loves her so much and she is hoping she gets her in 7th grade! We are so thankful for Ms. Rose! (Hill)
Coach Shults
Mrs. Shults has been an amazing Science teacher for my Daughter! Middle school has been and adjustment for my Daughter and she has never really loved science until this year. My daughter looks forward to her class everyday and Megan provides a fun learning environment and she is so very kind. We are so thankful for her! (Hill)
Coach Shults
Coach Schultz took the time to call me to report positive feedback about my son within the first month of school, that was so detailed and sweet, it brought tears to my eyes. She creates a joyful culture for kids in a transitional phase of life, brings them out of their shells, and highlights the good in each. She actually takes the time to know each child. She assisted Jack in starting a club and created a safe space to be himself. I am so grateful to her. (Deeney)

Our next wo Star Polishers of the year are Ms. Giacomazzi and Ms. Arnold! Congratulations for being recognized for the difference you are making in the lives of our students. Help us congratulate them for this awesome recognition!
