Free Breakfast and Lunch for All Students
Corbett School District is happy to be able to offer one free breakfast and one free lunch each day. This is made possible through the Community Eligibility Provision known as CEP. CEP is a National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program meal service that allows school districts to offer breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students. Students may choose to eat a meal brought from home and not take the free meal.
FAQs of CEP:
- No Meal Benefits Applications needed.
- Students may choose to purchase a second milk or can purchase milk if they brought food from home. Extra milks will be charged $0.50 to their meal account so long as they have a positive balance.
- Can students have more than one meal if they are still hungry? Students can get one free breakfast and one free lunch per day. Students may revisit the salad bar if they are still hungry.
- Can a student still get a school meal if they brought a meal from home? Yes, enrolled students are always welcome to get a complete breakfast or lunch at school regardless of what they brought from home.
Payment Options
Payments for milk can be made by:
- Sending cash or a check made out to "Corbett School District." When making a payment, please indicate your student's first and last name on the memo line of the check. It's best to deliver the payments directly to the school secretaries so that the payments can be applied before the next meal. No payment will be taken in the lunch room. No processing fee.
- Making payments online at the Mymealtime.com is an on-line payment system that is linked to your student's cafeteria. Parents can register for a free account on the website. You will need to have your student's student ID to do so, which you can get by contacting the school. Payments made online will have a processing fee.

Under Oregon law (ORS 339.155), schools may not require students to pay fees for classes or activities that are part of the regular school curriculum. This includes classes that are part of the core academic curriculum, as well as extracurricular or elective courses. There are some very specific exceptions to the law against charging fees or tuition. Schools can require reasonable payment for the following: (1) a refundable security deposit for textbooks, athletic equipment or other returnable supplies, (2) a lock for a locker, (3) uniforms and towels for PE classes (if provided by the school), (4) musical instruments, or (5) the cost of material that a student uses to make a product, when that product becomes the personal property of the student and the product is in excess of minimum course requirements, (6) fees or charges for extracurricular activities where student attendance is optional.

Associated Student Body Club News
Corbett Playing Cards (formerly Corbett Performing Arts Club) is thrilled to announce its fall show, Radium Girls!
AUDITIONS for Radium Girls will take place on Wednesday, September 3rd from 4:30p-8p, in the MPB on Main Campus. Casting is eligible for all Corbett students and Corbett residents 7th grade and up. Audition details and time slots can be found here.
Inspired by a true story, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights with her fellow “radium girls” for their day in court against the U.S. Radium Corporation who refuse to believe that the same element that shrinks tumors could have anything to do with the terrifying rash of illnesses among their employees. A powerful drama, Radium Girls offers a wry, unflinching look at the peculiarly American obsessions with health, wealth, and the commercialization of science. Performances will take place on November 14, 15, 16, 21, and 22.

Welcome back to the 2025-2026 school year!
Your health team is: Julie Nakamura, RN and Cheryl Reams, School Health Assistant. We are here to make sure your student has a healthy and safe experience at school. Your child’s safety is our priority. If your child has a chronic health condition or takes medication at school, then please let us know so we can provide an appropriate level of support to keep your child healthy and ready to learn at school. Even if your child is a self-manager of their health condition we would appreciate knowing of their health status so we can be aware of and best respond in an emergency situation. Health information is confidential and only shared with staff who would need to know.
For your convenience, you can let us know of your child’s health condition by accessing the Student Health Condition Portal https://www.multnomahesd.org/shs-boy-919413.html on the MESD School Health Services website. Select the health condition that is applicable to your child and complete the necessary forms.
If your child has any medication that needs to be taken during the school day you can access the necessary form(s) at the same website link. Forms are needed even if your student is able to carry and take their own medication. Examples of medications include:
● Emergency medications: epinephrine auto-injectors for severe allergies, like EpiPens®, albuterol inhalers for asthma, or glucagon for diabetes
● Daily medications: methylphenidate, insulin, etc.
● Over-the-counter medications: ibuprofen (Advil®), acetaminophen (Tylenol®), diphenhydramine (Benadryl®), etc.
If you would prefer a paper copy or to have the forms emailed to you, then contact the school health room or front office and we will make that happen! If you prefer to talk with me, your school nurse, before completing any of the forms then you can reach me at ( 971-235-0364) or (jnakamura@mesd.k12.or.us )
Note: All medications must be kept in their original container. Prescription medication must be in the pharmacy labeled container.
We are available to help you find health resources that you may need or to assist you with any student health concerns.
Stay well and strong!

Act Now to Secure Summer EBT Benefits
Contact ODHS: Tony Aaron Fuller, tony-aaron.fuller@odhs.oregon.gov
Contact ODE: Peter J. Rudy, peter.rudy@ode.oregon.gov
(Salem, OR) - As summer begins to wind down, families have a limited window to secure essential food assistance through the Summer EBT program. The program offers $120 per child to help cover grocery costs when school food programs are not as easy to access. With the application deadline quickly approaching on Sept. 3, 2025, it's crucial for eligible families to act now.
Thousands of families may be unaware that they qualify for this essential benefit. The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) and the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) are urging families to check their eligibility and apply before the deadline. Remember, once benefits are received, you have 122 days to use them.
Most eligible children received their benefits automatically on May 22, 2025, if their households:
- Participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Participate in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Are Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid) members in households with incomes under 185 percent of the Federal Poverty Level
- Children in foster care also automatically received Summer EBT
However, families who did not receive benefits automatically, particularly those with children in Head Start programs that participate in the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Programs, should still apply to determine their eligibility.
Families are encouraged to visit sebt.oregon.gov or contact the Summer EBT Call Center at 833-673-7328 to verify their eligibility and apply.
ODHS Director Fariborz Pakseresht said, “Making sure children have access to nutritious food throughout the summer is critical. This small action could provide significant support to families in Oregon.”
Since May 22, 2025, more than 347,027 eligible school-aged children have been issued $41.6 million in Summer EBT food benefits.
“There are many more families out there who may be eligible for the $120 Summer EBT benefit,” ODE Director Dr. Charlene Williams said. “This is more than a benefit—it’s a lifeline for many families. We’re asking our schools, community organizations, and summer meal providers to help spread the word by posting flyers and sharing information with families. Together, we can ensure every eligible child gets the food support they need this summer.”
Act now and don't let this opportunity pass by. Make sure your family receives the assistance it deserves by applying for Summer EBT before Sept. 3, 2025.
