The start of a new school year will be here before you know it, and we can't wait to welcome everyone back to Franklin D. Roosevelt Preschool!
We invite you and your child to join us for our FDR Open House on Wed, Aug 26, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
Whether your family is new to FDR or returning for another exciting year, this is a wonderful opportunity to become familiar with the school, connect with our staff, and get ready for a successful start to preschool.
Here's what you can expect:
- Meet Our Amazing Team - Say hello to our dedicated teachers, related service providers, and support staff who will help make this a memorable year for your child.
Visit Your Child's Classroom - Explore the learning environment, see where your child will spend the day, and become familiar with the spaces where they'll learn, play, and grow.
Learn Everything You Need to Know:
- Arrival and dismissal procedures
- Food service and meal ordering
- Health office information
- Before and after care
- Transportation
- Picture Day
- School communication

Get Your Questions Answered
Our team will be available throughout the evening to help answer questions and ensure you feel prepared and confident before the first day of school.
This is a great opportunity to ask questions and get comfortable with the school before the year begins. We're here to make your child's transition to FDR smooth, exciting, and full of joy!
Get Ready for Our New School Hours! 🕒
As we hop into the new school year, here’s a friendly reminder of our NEW Regular School Hours:
- Full Day: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
- Single Session (Early Dismissal): 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- Delayed Opening: 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM
We’re excited to fill each day with learning, fun, and adventures from start to finish! Make sure to set your alarms so your little one is ready to leap into each exciting day with us.

As we gear up for an exciting year of preschool fun, here’s a quick checklist to make sure your little one is all set for their first day:
- Backpack: A regular-sized one will do the trick! Stay away from tiny backpacks.
- Label Everything: Be sure to label all your child’s belongings to keep things easy to find.
- Extra Diapers/Pull-Ups: If your child isn’t quite potty trained yet, don’t forget these!
- Changing Clothes: Pack extra shirts, pants, underwear, and socks in their bag, just in case!
- Sneakers: Comfortable and safe for all our adventures, no sandals, please!
- Snack & Drink: Bring a yummy, nut-free snack and a drink to keep those energy levels up.
- Lunch: Also pack a lunch for the first few days even if you plan on buying lunch.
- Medical Info: Let the school nurse know about any allergies or special medical needs.
- Pick-Up Plans: If there are any changes to who will be picking up your child, please let us know in advance.
As the first day of school approaches, be sure to watch your email and our summer newsletters for additional updates and important back-to-school information. Preschool begins on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, and we'll continue sharing helpful reminders to make the transition as smooth as possible.
