Football Wins in Final Seconds
Summit 20, Shelbyville 19
Williamson Herald Article (10-2-26) - Davis Smith hit Micah Sally in the endzone with 3.8 seconds left to lift the Spartans to their first Region 6-6A win on the road in Week 6 in a thriller. Sally closed with all three touchdown catches from Smith totaling eight catches for more than 130 yards.
He and Smith connected twice in a wild back-and-forth fourth quarter. The first TD in the final frame was a 45-yarder between the two before Shelbyville regained the lead on Cyonn Rucker’s 29-yard strike to Laron Brown. That set up Smith and Sally for the game-winner after trailing 19-14 late.
Smith closed 17-for-32 for 236 yards with the three scores and an interception. Charles Williams added four catches for 51 yards and gained 21 yards on the ground. Dawson Peach recorded a sack to help highlight the Summit defense.
