Good People,
The end of the school year is moving toward us quickly, bringing a season of hard-earned celebrations. It’s been a personal week of milestones for my family as well; I recently attended my daughter’s pre-graduation at Saint Olaf College and celebrated my daughter’s partner’s graduation from Dakota Technical College.
These moments remind me just how meaningful transitions are. While our 8th graders aren't "graduating" quite yet, their Promotion to 9th grade is a massive achievement. I can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with you and your 8th graders on June 10th at 10:00 am.
Next week we are looking forward to our Community Project Day. Please check in with your 8th grader about their plans as this is individualized and different for each student. Our 6th & 7th graders will participate in the day with their advisories.

Student Chromebook Use for Next School Year
Teachers believe that we need a change with the student chromebooks. They would like to have the chromebooks assigned to the classroom rather than to the students. Students who do not have access to a device at home will be able to request one as needed. Principal Naida is seeking caregiver feedback to bring to site council for discussion.
For next school year, chromebooks should be

Volunteer for Sanford Community Day - May 22nd
The school is looking for parent volunteers to help students who are doing service projects at school on community day. Half of the 6th & 7th graders will spend the morning rotating between different service stations. We are looking for a few parents at each station to help coordinate the activities. Click here for more info and to sign up.
Spring Grounds Clean Up
The PTA is hosting a spring clean up event on Saturday, May 23, at 10:00 am. Tasks for the morning are to spread mulch, do some planting in the school courtyard area, and pick up the candy wrappers, pencils, and other garbage that's accumulated over the winter. Meet outside Sanford near the courtyard, on 36th Street, between 41st and 42nd Avenues, at 10:00 am. We hope you can join us!
Next Meeting
Our next meeting is Tuesday, May 19th from 6:00p-7:30p in the media center at Sanford. Enter through the main entrance. All are welcome!
