Bear Tracks Weekly
Week of February 23, 2026
The Weekly Spark
Dear BSE Families,
Our scholars had a grand time celebrating Reading Day! The day was filled with fun, creativity, and excitement for reading. From the engaging activities to the smiles seen throughout the building, it was clear that our scholars truly enjoyed every moment.
We also enjoyed a wonderful Black History Month Program that was both meaningful and inspiring. Our scholars did an amazing job celebrating history, culture, and achievements through their performances and participation.
Thank you for supporting a love of learning and helping make special moments like these so memorable. We are so proud of our scholars and the enthusiasm they bring to school each day!

Black History Month Program
We are so proud of all of the scholars who participated in the Black History Month Program!!!
What a wonderful time to come together as a school and celebrate the theme of "100 Years Strong".
Scholars have been learning a lot throughout the month about Black History and how we need to be the change that we want to see in the world!
π¦ Scholarly Spotlights π¦
Bear Tracks will feature a few classrooms each week to spotlight things that are happening in our building.
Ms. Brooks' 1st Grade Class Spotlight
This week I visited Ms. Brooks' and Ms. Finch's 1st Grade classroom during their T.W.I.G. session. T.W.I.G. sessions are held on Tuesdays and are a component of Leader in Me. These sessions provide dedicated times to work on their individual W.I.G.s (Wildly Important Goals) that they set for themselves. They keep track of these in their "Leadership Binders".
Scholars also have a time at the end of the session where they check in with a partner to hold each other accountable and celebrate progress and growth.
Ms. Forbes' 3rd Grade Class Spotlight
It was Math Time in Ms. Forbes' 3rd grade classroom!
Scholars were working on interpreting data from a variety of graphs and reviewing important terminology when talking about the data!
Celebration Station
Mr. Truitt's class showed Engage in Learning over the last few weeks in math, resulting in a 100% pass rate on their End of Module Assessment in Math this past week. Way to go scholars!
