Our "C" of the Month: CRITICAL THINKING Our "C" of the Month: CRITICAL THINKING

This month at Wilson, we are focusing on Critical Thinking! We are encouraging students to stop, think, ask questions, and make thoughtful decisions.

Critical thinking helps students solve problems, learn from mistakes, and work through challenges both in the classroom and in everyday life.

You can support this at home by asking your child questions like, “What do you think?” “Why do you think that?” or “What could you try differently?” Together, we can help our students become confident thinkers and problem-solvers! Thank you for your help with this.

🎃 Halloween Costumes / Disfraces de Halloween

Students are welcome to wear their costumes to school in the morning on Friday, October 30th. However, masks may not be worn during the school day.

  • Students may wear their masks ONLY during the parade, but not during class time.
  • No weapons (even if they are part of a costume) are allowed at any time.

Our Halloween Parade will begin at 2:25 PM inside the building. We will walk through the school, picking up each class along the way. The parade will then exit (around 2:35 PM) through the northwest doors and continue through the common area by the North Playground.

Parents are invited to join us outside to watch the parade. We kindly ask that parents do not enter the building during the parade.

Once the parade is over, we ask that parents please wait outside for students to be dismissed at our regular school dismissal time of 3:00 PM.

Since the parade will finish so close to the end of the school day, we will not be checking students out through the office following the parade. Students will return to their classrooms and then meet families outside at 3:00 PM for regular pick-up.

Thank you for your support in helping us make this a safe and fun celebration for all!

A $35 Donation Fee per student can be made at SchoolCash Online or in person at Wilson Elementary in the office. The donation money is used to cover the extra costs for a variety of activities and field trips for students.

Before making your donation, you will need to create an account in SchoolCash Online using your child's student number. This number can be found by clicking on your student's name in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you need help locating this information, please reach out and we can help.

You can also stop in the office to make a donation by check, cash, or card. Any amount you are able to donate helps our students.

Thank you for supporting your child and our school!

WHAT IS THE DONATION MONEY USED FOR?

A portion of the funds are divided up and given directly to each grade level/ teacher. The teacher uses his or her donation account to pay for things like supplies and materials for lessons, resources for class parties and activities, field trips and other needed items.

A small portion of the funds are used to fund the following school-wide events:

*Toy Tower in the front office (students earn tokens to use in the toy tower)

*Birthday gift for every student

*Assemblies

*Field trips

*Field Day

*Rewards for citizenship

We try really hard to make this money go as far as it possibly can, so we thank you in advance for paying your $35 donation for each student.
