đź“– Important Reminders: Media News You Can Use
All library books are due by April 30, 2026 and Textbooks By May 8, 2026
Thank you to everyone who has shared great ideas and feedback on ways we can continue improving services and procedures. Several of these suggestions are reflected in the updates below.
Homeroom Fine Notices
Staff is asked to carefully review homeroom fine notices during homeroom tomorrow and pass them out to students assigned to your roster.
If a student listed on a fine notice is not in your class or on your roster, please return that notice to the Learning Commons. We are hopeful this process will help us clean up and improve the accuracy of our Destiny system.
Hall Pass Update for April
Beginning April 1, we will be switching to pink hall passes for April.
Students should be sent to the Learning Commons only with the pink pass. This change is intended to help reduce class skipping and improve student tracking throughout the building.
Thank you again for your collaboration, flexibility, and commitment to supporting our students. Please reach out if you have any questions or additional suggestions.

Cross Creek FFA ( Future Farmers of America )
FFA
Mission Statement
FFA stands for the National FFA Organization. Its mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
In other words, FFA helps students build confidence, learn real-world skills, and prepare for future careers—whether in agriculture or beyond.”
Achievements
“In FFA, students can earn different degrees as they grow and become more involved.
The first is the Greenhand Degree, which is for beginning members who are just getting started.
Next is the Chapter Degree, which requires students to complete an SAE project, also known as a Supervised Agricultural Experience, and participate in community service hours.
After that is the State Degree, which requires at least 25 hours of community service and participation in five or more activities beyond the local level.
Each degree represents growth, hard work, and commitment.”
Sponsor & Meetings
“Our FFA chapter is led by our sponsor, Mrs. Henderson.
All members meet on one Wednesday each month, while FFA officers meet every Wednesday to plan events and lead the chapter.
If you're interested in leadership, community service, and building skills for your future, FFA is a great organization to be a part of.”
Book of the Month: "Forever Is Now" by Mariama Lockington
"Forever is Now"
I'm safe here.
That's how Sadie feels, on a perfect summer day, wrapped in her girlfriend's arms. School is out, and even though she’s been struggling to manage her chronic anxiety, Sadie is hopeful better times are ahead. Or at least, she thought she was safe. When her girlfriend reveals some unexpected news and the two witness a violent incident of police brutality unfold before them, Sadie’s whole world is upended in an instant.
I'm not safe anywhere.
That's how Sadie feels every day after―vulnerable, uprooted. She retreats inside as the weeks slip by and relies on her phone to stay connected to the outside world. When Sadie’s therapist gives her a diagnosis for her debilitating panic-agoraphobia, she starts on a path of acceptance and healing. Meanwhile, Sadie's best friend, Evan, updates her on the protests taking place in their city. Sadie wants to be a part of it, to use her voice and affect change. But how do you show up for your community when you can’t even leave your house?
I can build a safe place inside myself.
That’s what Sadie learns over the course of one life-changing summer, with some help from her family, her best friend, an online platform for activists, and a magnetic crush she develops for the new boy next door.

Coming to the Media Center is a privilege. To maintain this privilege, students must follow the following rules:
1. Students must sign in and out on the electronic logbook. They must have a signed pass from a teacher with them and the media specialist or media assistant must sign it before they return to class.
2. Students will be on task while they are in the Center. On task means that the student is doing what they came to do (i.e., checking out a book, doing research, returning books, paying fine). If they are observed as not being on task, the media specialist or media assistant will give that student one warning. If a second warning for any reason is given, the student will be sent back to class without checking out any books and with the behavior noted on the student's pass and the teacher will be notified.
3. No food, candy, gum, or drinks are allowed in the center. If a student has any of these items on them while in the Center, they will be sent back to class without any checkouts and with the behavior noted on their pass. The teacher will also be notified.
4. Students will show respect for all adults in the Media Center. Failure to do so will result in the student being sent back to class.
5. Any serious discipline problems will result in the student being escorted by the media specialist to the principal or assistant principal's office.
6. CELL-PHONES, PERSONAL DEVICES AND OR HEADPHONES ARE NOT ALLOWED.
