Announcing the NISL PTO Executive Board!
We would like to congratulate and welcome Sr. Lutfiya, Sr. Noor, Sr. Shukri, and Sr. Hala to the 2024-2025 NISL PTO Executive Board! We are grateful for their courage and for accepting their nominations. Since we have four candidates and four executive board positions, elections will not be necessary.
Next steps
1) NISL staff will elect teacher representatives that will serve alongside the executive board. Teacher representatives will be announced in next week's newsletter, inshaAllah.
2) The executive board and teacher representatives will schedule and hold their first meeting and make plans to adopt bylaws, set goals, build a calendar of events, and establish projects, inshaAllah.
Note
Parents who completed the PTO sign up form and indicated that they would like to help, but not serve on the board, should expect to be contacted within the next few weeks, inshaAllah. May Allah reward you for whatever help you can provide--with your time or with your resources.
Lutfiya Feyzulova
As salam aleyküm dear brothers and sisters,
Alhamdulillah I am blessed with a happy family of my wonderful husband and 4 great kids. My husband and I have been through a lot and we are at this level now by standing behind and next to each other in any situation of this hard life.
I am a medical interpreter and trying my best to help people around me. I am hoping that this new journey of life will bring all of us more joy and happiness.
Noor Ghazawi
As salamu alaikom dear NISL parents and staff,
My name is Noor Ghazawi I am the parent of Aya, grade 5 and Amin grade 3. This year marks our 3rd year attending NISL. I have been a resident of Louisville for 28 years. I am well established in the community and speak Arabic and English fluently. It would be my honor to accept the position and serve on the NISL PTO board.
My goal as being a part of this committee would be to drive improvements in the education, health and wellness of our children. I would advocate for more ways parents can be involved in their children’s journey at NISL, to create more positive experiences for everyone. Thank you for considering me!
Shukri Hassan
Hello Dear Nur Islamic School Community,
We are very excited to share out experience at Nur Islamic School. We are a family of five and four of our kids go to Nur Islamic School--which has recently reached many successes on its educational journey.
Nur Islamic School began its dream with great teachers that are compassionate and have excellent experience to offer our children. My husband and I strongly recommend Nur Islamic School to everyone!
Hala Muhammad
Peace be upon you, greetings. Today I will introduce you to the wonderful school, which is NISL School, but a little glimpse about myself before we start. My name is Hala Muhammad, a mother of four children and I have a diploma in business administration. I have many hobbies, including drawing, cooking, making sweets, playing with children and teaching them. I would like to join the Parents and Teachers Organization because of my passion for education and developing children and creating a generation full of knowledge, literature and ethics. I can offer anything in the interest of students so that they flourish, innovate and love learning and education. Now I will start introducing you to the more than wonderful school, which is NISL School. We joined this school five years ago and I have two beautiful daughters in it, one in the second grade and the other in the fifth grade. They learn with full love and passion thanks to the efforts of the wonderful school staff and the beautiful, educated teachers who do well and provide their utmost efforts in education and their interest in creating an educated, aware and moral generation. In fact, all A teacher at NISL treats every child as if he is her own son. She wants him to be at his best. I really thank them for their efforts, patience, and endurance of all the fatigue and hardship in order to create an educated and well-mannered generation. All this development made those around us notice the development of my daughters, so I described the school and the teachers to them, which made many of them enroll their children in this school, and they did. This school is flourishing and prospering from one year to the next, and I see this developing and I notice it in my daughters, who are progressing in knowledge, literature, morals, listening to others, respecting the elderly, being kind to the young, reading the Holy Quran and contemplating it, and teaching the Arabic language. This is a good choice that I loved and I love to advance with it. How beautiful it is for children to learn more than one language, especially since it is the language of the Holy Quran. Everyone knows that education at a young age is like engraving in stone, so I want my children to learn the Arabic language in addition to the English language. This will really develop their minds and open up multiple areas for them in life. Also, the school adopted a system this year. To help children control themselves and insist on each child to progress and excel with his creativity, which is the system of giving incentive cards to students who are creative in a certain thing and those whose morals and behavior improve and who strive to make themselves better. I liked this system very much because it made each child strive as much as he could to collect cards in order to get a gift in the end. This is a beautiful thing, NISL School. I thank you for your more than wonderful efforts and I wish you continued progress, prosperity, success and the creation of a creative generation.
Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“Whoever does not thank people has not thanked Allah.”
