REMINDER: SUPERVISION AT HOME EVENTS
We love seeing our families come together to cheer on our students at Cedar Bluffs home events. These games and activities are a wonderful way to build school spirit, spend time with friends, and celebrate our teams and performers. To make sure everyone has the best possible experience, we kindly ask that children are supervised during these events. Your support helps us keep the atmosphere safe, fun, and welcoming for all. Please refer to the attached letter for more information and specific guidelines.

REMINDER: HOMECOMING IS ALMOST HERE 😎
Students, start planning those outfits now because this year’s celebration is going to be one to remember.
Our themes are officially set: the high school will be grooving back in time with a Disco theme, while the middle school will step into a magical Fairytale world.
Mark your calendars—our Homecoming football game against the Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer Titans kicks off on October 3rd, with the dances to follow on October 4th (middle school in the auditorium, high school in the main gym).
Students are already gathering supplies for hallway decorating, which will take place on September 28th from 5:00–8:00 PM. And don’t forget—Spirit Days are coming soon, complete with awesome prizes!
Stay tuned for more details in the next newsletter. We can’t wait to celebrate Homecoming 2025 with our Wildcat family!
WHAT IS WILDCAT REFLECTION?
Wildcat Reflection is a daily opportunity for students to focus on accountability and improvement. It takes place each afternoon from 3:25–4:30 PM. Students may be assigned to Wildcat Reflection if they are missing large amounts of schoolwork, failing two or more courses, frequently tardy, frequently absent, or have experienced a discipline issue during the day.
How will I know if my child has Wildcat Reflection?
-
If the assignment is related to failing grades or tardiness, you will receive an email notification.
-
If it is related to missing work, attendance, or discipline issues, you will receive both an email and a phone call.
This structure helps ensure clear communication while supporting student growth and responsibility.
FROM THE OFFICE
The Importance of Being On Time and Prepared for Class
At Cedar Bluffs, we believe that being on time and ready to learn is one of the most important habits for student success. Arriving to class promptly not only shows respect for teachers and classmates but also sets the tone for a productive day of learning.
School begins at 8:00 a.m. each morning. Any student arriving after 8:00 will be counted as tardy. This expectation applies to every class throughout the day—whether it’s the very first period or the very last. Consistency helps students stay engaged, prepared, and on track academically.
We understand that emergencies sometimes happen. If an emergency situation causes your child to be late, we ask that you please call the front office so our secretaries are aware.
Consequences for Excessive Tardies
To help reinforce the importance of punctuality, we have clear expectations in place:
-
3 or more tardies in one week → The student will be assigned Wildcat Reflection for the following week, Tuesday through Friday.
-
5 or more tardies in one week → The student will be deemed ineligible for all activities that week.
These guidelines are in place to encourage responsibility and accountability, both of which are valuable life skills. By working together—students, families, and staff—we can help every Wildcat arrive prepared, on time, and ready to make the most of each day.
