HOW TO CHANGE COURSES IN COURSE REQUESTS

The deadline for course change requests for the 2025-2026 school year has passed.

Naviance codes were emailed to parents on Friday, November 1, 2024. If you did not receive your code or cannot log in, please email Mrs. Tabor at ktabor@conroeisd.net.

If you have two children at TWHS, those accounts can be linked. Please email Mrs. Tabor to make the request. If you have a student at McCullough and one at TWHS, those accounts CANNOT be linked until both students are at TWHS.

In the presentation, parents were given the opportunity to ask questions. Here are the FAQs. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kBrWVQGLEh74r8lXgy3sFzqtmUkLWRs4xMWhT__Hzd0/edit?tab=t.0

DUAL CREDIT IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Will your student sign up for Dual Credit Courses for the 25-26 School Year? Here are the steps to becoming a dual credit student, as outlined on the TWHS Dual Credit Website: https://sites.google.com/conroeisd.net/twhs-dual-credit/home . Even if your student has not yet met with their counselor, they can begin to complete the following steps.

Step 1: Are you a new or returning dual credit student?

https://sites.google.com/conroeisd.net/twhs-dual-credit/dc-steps/step-1-new-or-returning

Step 2: If you are a new dual credit student, complete the apply Texas application & set up your Lone Star College account and forward your emails. If you are not new to dual credit, proceed to step 3.

https://sites.google.com/conroeisd.net/twhs-dual-credit/dc-steps/step-2-apply-to-lone-star

Step 3: Do you have qualifying test scores either through SAT (https://www.collegeboard.org/), ACT (https://my.act.org/account/signin?location=https://my.act.org), or the TSIA2? (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeyVV6Xm1q_rkY9fl4N9G-nsKXbZMd6Hha88hunqVKSkJmScA/viewform)

https://sites.google.com/conroeisd.net/twhs-dual-credit/dc-steps/step-3-qualifying-test-scores

Step 4: Submitting the dual credit google form (including uploading your dual credit paperwork and qualifying test scores). This step can not be completed UNTIL the student obtains the qualifying test scores. https://sites.google.com/conroeisd.net/twhs-dual-credit/dc-steps/step-4-submitting-dc-paperwork

The last and final step (https://sites.google.com/conroeisd.net/twhs-dual-credit/dc-steps/step-5-making-payments) will not occur until May. Your student’s counselor will be sending out another email with payment instructions once students have been enrolled in their dual credit courses for the fall by Lone Star College. This typically happens mid May. The deadline to have Steps 1-4 completed is April 11, 2025. We only have a certain number of seats available for several of the dual credit classes, and they are assigned on a first come, first served basis.

No additional opportunities to take the TSIA2 at TWHS will be offered this year. If your child still needs to take the TSIA2, please have them visit their counselor for a Testing Ticket for Lone Star College. You MUST complete the pre-assessment activity as soon as possible.. Instructions for completing the pre-assessment can be found here. You may be asked to show your certificate of completion, so be sure to take a screenshot of this. Students taking the TSIA2 test, you will receive your scores as soon as you complete your test. Remember that ALL testing, paperwork, and scores must be submitted by April 11, 2025. There will not be any extensions due to the Lone Star deadline requirements.

SAT SCHOOL DAY

The School Day SAT will be held on April 16, 2025. You will receive additional information if you have signed up. Registration is closed for additional students to sign up.

CLINIC NOTES CLINIC NOTES

Vaccines

If your student has received any vaccines this school year, feel free to send a copy or screenshot to the clinic at school so that we can update the record on file. You can also email it to aransley@conroeisd.net for the Senior Campus, or efalcon@conroeisd.net for the Ninth Grade Campus.

Immunization Records

If you have a graduating senior and need a copy of their vaccine record, please be sure to request that to be picked up by your student or emailed to you before May 27th. We are not able to fulfill requests made during the summer, and we do not submit vaccine records to schools. Colleges and universities require an additional dose of the Meningitis (MCV4) vaccine that is received on or after the 16th birthday, and you may want to also discuss the optional Meningitis B vaccine with your child's doctor. That is a newer vaccine that is available to children ages 16-18, and it protects against an additional strain of the meningococcal bacteria.

School Orders for the 2025-2026 School Year

As you begin to schedule summer doctor's appointments or physicals, please be sure to have your child's doctor renew their school orders for the 2025-2026 school year. We do require new orders each year for chronic conditions that could possibly require management or treatment at school, such as:

  • Asthma
  • Severe food or environmental allergies
  • Seizures
  • Diabetes
  • Migraines

If your child participates in an activity or sport on campus that requires a physical and also has a chronic condition, please submit a copy of doctor’s orders for the 2025-2026 school year with their physical form, and also have them turn in a copy of those orders to the clinic.

You can find blank copies of needed medical forms by visiting the TWHS Clinic website at, https://twhs.conroeisd.net/departments/department-home/clinic/

LIBRARY: April is School Library Month as designated by the American Association of School Libraries (AASL). The first national celebration was held April 1985 with the theme "Where Learning Never Ends: The School Library Media Center."

Forty years later, we still celebrate the school library as the heart of the school. In the ever-changing world of education and with a multitude of roles, school librarians continue to foster a love of reading and life-long learning. From technology integration to online resources, campus support and after-school activities, school librarians remain true to the core values of librarianship; a conduit of the community, connecting students to the world and enriching their experiences through books.

"I have found the most valuable thing in my wallet is my library card." - Laura Bush

If you would like more information on celebrating your school library, check out this link:

MOVING OVER THE SUMMER: Any student who is currently enrolled in 9th through 11th grade and is moving over the summer to a new school, please notify the Registrar, Sidney Vance, at svance@conroeisd.net.

NEWCOMER CENTER: At Newcomer Center, we understand that moving to another country can be very stressful, and the lack of knowledge about the enrollment process and the education system can be even more challenging. I have had the privilege of working with over 5,000 families, assisting them through this process, and I can assure you that having someone to guide them and explain the process calmly can make a huge difference, providing them with much-needed peace of mind. Therefore, if you know anyone who is moving to this district, please don’t hesitate to share my information. I would be happy to provide them with the help and guidance they need. I speak Spanish as well. I am available for any other questions. My information is as follows: Iytzia Cardenas, WhatsApp: 2812209527, Office: 936-709-8385, Email: icardenas@conroeisd.net.

ABSENT REPORTING APP: In an effort to make things easier for our families, CISD is launching an app to help you report your student's absences to our school when they are out. Documentation such as doctor's notes will still need to be submitted to our campus attendance office, but we are excited about the convenience of this new app. You will access it through the Parent Portal. The directions are included in the link. https://kb.conroeisd.net/kb/absence-reporting-system-app-parent-directions

SCHOOL CASH ONLINE: Attention Parents: Please be sure to check your child's School Cash Online account frequently. The website is www.conroeisd.schoolcashonline.com. Fees are added throughout the year for various activities. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the fees charged to your child, please contact the classroom teacher or club sponsor. Failure to pay fees listed as "required" or "overdue" may result in a student not being permitted to participate in some extracurricular activities. If you need assistance logging in to School Cash Online or adding and viewing your child's account, please visit schoolcashonline.com/Home/Support and view the resources available to help.
