Several times a year we engage in safety drills with our staff and students. These events are important tools to help us practice what to do in case of an emergency. Providence Hall (all three campuses) follow a standard and relatively universally accepted process and nomenclature called the "Standard Response Protocol". You can read more about that here.

Varias veces al año realizamos simulacros de seguridad con nuestro personal y estudiantes. Estos eventos son herramientas importantes para ayudarnos a practicar qué hacer en caso de emergencia. Providence Hall (en los tres campus) sigue un proceso y una nomenclatura estándar y relativamente universalmente aceptados, denominado "Protocolo de Respuesta Estándar". This Monday we will practice a HOLD at the elementary school. In a HOLD, students stay in their room or area but resume normal learning activities (unlike a lockdown drill wherein they would be huddled away from doors and windows and keeping quiet). You can read more about the HOLD procedures on pages 16-17 of the linked document above.

Este lunes practicaremos un simulacro de suspensión en la escuela primaria. En este simulacro, los estudiantes permanecen en su aula o área, pero reanudan sus actividades normales de aprendizaje (a diferencia de un simulacro de confinamiento, donde se les aislaría de puertas y ventanas, en silencio). We’re excited to announce that our Giving Tree is now up in the main lobby.

We invite all families, if they would like, to take a tag from the tree and purchase a gift for a Providence Hall student in need. This annual tradition is a wonderful way for our community to come together and make the holiday season brighter for others.

Please remember to:

• Wrap your gift before returning it.

• Attach the sticker from the tag securely to your wrapped gift.

• Return all gifts to the school by Thursday, December 12th.

Students have been asking the question can I bring my own recess equipment from home? The answer is no. We ask that students leave all their footballs, soccer balls, wall balls, jump ropes, etc at home. But great news we have recess equipment for each grade level. Each grade level has their own recess cart that goes out at their recess time. However as you can imagine some items get lost over time. If you would like to purchase items to help refill our recess carts we would appreciate it. Thanks

Parents, as we inch closer to cold and flu season please keep in mind the Providence Hall policy regarding when to keep your child home. These policies are in place to protect your child and all the other children in the schools.

We are so happy to see so many kids in dress code. We want to reward them for their effort. In coming weeks will be randomly popping in to classrooms to reward our students who are in dress code.

On Friday our students in grades 3-5 got to hear some amazing concert pianists perform works by Chopin, Schubert, and others. That Steinway piano, WOW what an instrument.

We are so grateful to the Hatch family for donating treats to Teacher Park this month!

Thanks to PTO, Mrs. Wainscott, and Mr. Faulkner for a special treat trolley this November. They delivered mini pies to every staff member!
