As we close out another incredible school year, this edition of Eagle News will be our final one for the 2025–2026 school year.

To our students, thank you for your hard work, resilience, school spirit, and the memories you created throughout the year. To our families, thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and continued support of our campus and staff. To our teachers and staff, thank you for the countless hours, dedication, and heart you pour into making a difference for our Eagles every single day.

Friday, May 22 marks two special milestones for our Eagle family. The last day of school and Graduation Day for the Class of 2026. While one chapter closes, another begins, and we are excited to see all of our Eagles continue to soar toward their future goals and opportunities.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe, restful, and well-deserved summer break filled with time to recharge, celebrate accomplishments, and make lasting memories with family and friends.

To our graduating seniors: congratulations on this remarkable achievement. You will always be a part of the Eagle family, and we cannot wait to see the impact you make in the world.

Thank you again for an amazing school year. Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle!

Have a wonderful summer, Eagles!

Students in Houses 400–700 will pick up their yearbooks in the Eagles Nest.

We encourage students to plan ahead and pick up their yearbook during their assigned time and location.

As the school year comes to a close at Allen High School, Introduction to Culinary Arts students had the opportunity to step behind the scenes and assist with closing duties at Blu, the student-run restaurant. Students learned proper sanitation procedures at the three-sink dish station from a Culinary Arts student and even jumped in to help in the commercial dishwashing area.

Other students shadowed seniors as they explored the many responsibilities involved in wrapping up the commercial kitchen for the weekend, including sanitizing prep stations, organizing supplies, and cleaning work areas. Students observed how teamwork, organization, and sanitation are essential parts of operating a professional commercial kitchen. The experience gave students a hands-on look at the real-world skills and responsibilities required in the culinary industry.

The National French Contest, also known as Le Grand Concours, is a prestigious nationwide competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. Each year, students across the United States are tested on their French listening, reading, grammar, and cultural comprehension skills, competing against peers with similar levels of French study. In 2025, nearly 47,000 students from all 50 states participated in the competition, making it one of the largest and most respected academic language contests in the country.

We are proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of our French students, whose dedication and hard work earned impressive results at this year’s competition. Their accomplishments reflect not only their commitment to language learning, but also the strength of our French program and the support of their teachers and families.

Congratulations to the following students for their exceptional performance in the 2026 National French Contest / Le Grand Concours:

FREE Summer parenting group - Children's Hospital, Dallas FREE Summer parenting group - Children's Hospital, Dallas

Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) is a 4-session virtual group through TCHATT for parents and caregivers of children ages 7-17 who struggle with anxiety. SPACE is an evidence-based program shown to reduce child anxiety – even though treatment involves working with parents only. Sessions are practical and interactive, with reading and practice between meetings. This approach is effective because children with anxiety often rely on their parents to help manage or avoid their fears. In response, parents may adjust their own behaviors – either by doing certain things or avoiding others – to reduce their child’s distress. These responses are called accommodations, and they occur in over 90% of families with an anxious child.

Examples of accommodation include:

  • Responding to frequent phone calls or texts from a child during the school day.
  • Picking a child up early from school due to anxiety.
  • Repeatedly answering reassurance-seeking questions.
  • Checking or completing homework because the child feels anxious.
  • Speaking on behalf of a child in social situations due to a child’s anxiety.
  • Staying with a child during activities or events longer than developmentally expected due to the child’s anxiety.
  • Writing notes to excuse a child from class participation or presentations due to a child’s anxiety.

While these responses are well-intentioned, they can unintentionally maintain or increase anxiety over time. SPACE helps parents learn how to provide supportive responses while gradually reducing accommodation, with the goal of helping the child learn that they can cope with anxious feelings.

Leadership Opportunity for Current Juniors – Camp RYLA Leadership Opportunity for Current Juniors – Camp RYLA

We are excited to share an incredible leadership opportunity for current juniors at Allen High School. Through our partnership with Rotary International, two students will have the opportunity to attend Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) this summer.

Camp RYLA is a weeklong leadership camp designed to develop the next generation of leaders. Students from across the region participate in activities focused on teamwork, communication, problem solving, and leadership development. Through workshops, group challenges, athletic activities, and team-building experiences, students learn how to collaborate with other leaders and build the skills needed to make a positive impact in their schools and communities.

This opportunity is fully funded through a scholarship valued at approximately $1,000 per student, and we are hoping to send two outstanding Allen juniors to participate.

Students who attend Camp RYLA often return with:

  • Greater confidence in their leadership abilities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A network of student leaders from across the region
  • A deeper understanding of how to positively influence their school and community

If you are a current junior interested in leadership, making a difference, or growing your confidence, we encourage you to apply.

Applications and additional information can be found here:
https://ryla5810.org/portfolio-item/2026-prospective-students/

Students can complete the application and submit it via email. Names must be submitted to the camp director by the first week of April, so we encourage interested students to apply soon.

If you know a student who would be a great candidate for this opportunity, please encourage them to apply.

This is an excellent opportunity to grow as a leader before your senior year and beyond.
