Sandburg Community Update
Oct 30th, 2026
Note from our Principal, Mrs. Sieck
Dear Sandburg Community,
Today was an absolutely fun day for our students as they celebrated our Run 4 Funds prize day! Students had a blast jamming out at their own silent disco, bouncing around inside a giant hamster wheel, and our kindergarteners even got to slime the PRINCIPALS!
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your overwhelming generosity in supporting our school and making these special moments possible.
We can’t wait to keep the momentum going tonight at our annual Fall Festival starting at 4:30 PM. We hope to see all of you there.
Looking ahead, we are thrilled to host our Thanksgiving Feast again this year. Please be sure to review our updated lunch schedule and send in your RSVP so you can join us for this meaningful opportunity to gather and share a meal as a school family.
I encourage you to stay informed about the current state of the district by taking a moment to review the latest updates and resources available. To help families and community members better understand district funding, state budget constraints, and the upcoming local ballot initiatives, LPS created the Dollars and Sense webpage. Explore the webpage to:
Learn about proactive cost-saving measures taken by LPS.
Review key investment priorities: retaining top teachers, sustaining academic & career programs, and protecting safety.
Use the Voter Impact Calculator to estimate the property tax impact for your household.
Read answers to common questions about Colorado school funding.
Finally, as the holidays quickly approach, please know that our community is here to lift up every family. If your household is in need of extra support during this time of year, please reach out to me directly by email. We would love to connect you with our Holiday Giving Campaign, which offers assistance while remaining completely anonymous.
Wishing you all a truly wonderful weekend ahead, and I hope to see many of you at the STRIDE this weekend. Please stop by the Sandburg tent and come say hi!
Warmly,
Lindsey Sieck
Principal
Attendance Procedures
If your student is going to be absent or late please enter the information in your parent portal prior to the start of the school day. You will find that on the bottom left under more, absence request. If you are calling in, please call prior to the start of the school day @ 303-347-4675 and follow the prompts. The final option is to send an email to sandburgattendance@gmail.com
All three options are checked at 8:00 am, if the message is received later you most likely will receive a phone call from the office looking for your student.
Volunteer Requirements:
A few friendly reminders about our volunteer requirements and what it means to be a volunteer vs. a visitor. With so many special events at school, please take the time to review these expectations to avoid frustrations later. These requirements are required for any Sign Up Genius that room parents send out as well. These are all in place to keep our students safe. Thank you for understanding.
Volunteers are individuals who have completed a district background check. If you’ll be working directly with students—leading groups, supervising activities, or attending field trips—you must be registered as a volunteer. Click here to register to be a volunteer.
Visitors are guests who check in at the front office but have not completed the volunteer background check. Visitors are always welcome but may not be left alone with students.
Illness Policy
Please take a moment to review our policies around illness.
Littleton Public Schools follows the “How Sick is Too Sick?” guidance on CDE’s website to help you decide when to keep your student at home and when it’s okay for them to return to school.
