Summer Red Raven Review July 2023

Greetings

Happy July to everyone! I have heard many people say, "I can't believe there is a month left until school starts!" I agree with that statement, but I also have so much excitement for the start of the school year! All school families should have received the summer letter and tuition statement for the school year. If you didn't, don't hesitate to contact the office so we can send out another packet to you. This email is LONG, but it is jam-packed with so much information. Please make sure you read to the bottom.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the back-to-school events or the first day of school!

Decline to Sign

Dear Parents,

As you may know, historic school choice legislation (LB753, the Opportunity Scholarships Act) was signed into law. Nebraska was the last state in the country to pass a school choice bill, and some states have been implementing school choice programs for over 30 years. LB753 was supported by a super-majority of Senators from across Nebraska on both sides of the political aisle, and advocated for by the Nebraska Catholic Conference. This law will be life-changing for thousands of Nebraska children in need of better educational opportunities.

Unfortunately, there is already an effort to repeal this law, and your help is needed to make sure Nebraska parents—especially low-income parents—can choose the best education for their child.

Please consider doing these few things to help protect parental rights and education choice:

1. “Decline to Sign” the so-called “Support Our Schools” petition being circulated across the state, and please urge your family and friends to similarly “Decline to Sign.”

2. Sign up to volunteer for the Keep Kids First campaign to protect the Opportunity Scholarships Act at www.KeepKidsFirstNebraska.com.

3. To learn more about the Opportunity Scholarships Act, see this one-pager and review the truth about school choice. Thank you for protecting educational opportunities for low-income families and children experiencing bullying. Let’s Keep Kids First in Nebraska!

Sincerely in Christ,

Tom Venzor
