A short week and a long weekend! Enjoy those last few days of summer weather! Spirit week starts Monday and the district has shared spirit week activities! The flier is attached below. RAH starts next week for our K-2 classes. Tracking sheets should have come home with those students however, you can find a copy below in the PTG section. Speaking of PTG, Kramer Carnival is just around the corner and they are in need of volunteers. This is such a fun event and helps fund field trips and other experiences for our Kramer students. See the PTG section for more information.

Read At Home

Attention Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade families: RAH begins on Wednesday September 24th. This will be our first reward day, so please return your RAH sheet by Wednesday!

Kramer RAH (Reading At Home) is a voluntary program from K-2nd graders that builds a home-school connection by rewarding students for reading at home. Each week students record the books they've read and turn-in record sheets for rewards. Rewards alternate between a student selected book and a small prize.

*THE COUNSELOR CORNER* *THE COUNSELOR CORNER*

Hello parents and guardians and welcome back to a new school year!

I hope your summer was fun and restful!

For those of you who are new to Kramer, My name is Robin Durham and I am the school counselor. My job is to support your student’s academic and social emotional growth throughout their time in elementary school. I provide classroom lessons, small groups, individual support, as well as crisis management.

I can be reached two ways…

Email: durhamr@talawanda.org

Phone: (513) 273-3553

I will begin Second Step classroom lessons in September. These lessons will address the specific areas of growth mindset and goal setting, emotion management, empathy and kindness, as well as problem solving. In addition to the Second Step Lessons, I provide teacher requested lessons based on the specific needs of a particular classroom.

Lunch with the Counselor…

One of my goals this school year is to get better acquainted with each and every student at Kramer. I hope to achieve this by inviting small groups of students to have lunch with me each day. In the month of September, I plan to focus on having lunch with and getting to know our new kindergarten class!!

I also provide small groups in which students work with their peers to learn skills that are helpful both in and out of the classroom, as well as short term one on one support. Some of the small groups and one on one support focus on specific areas such as self regulation, coping skills, relationships, etc.

If you are interested in your student receiving any additional support, please complete and return the appropriate permission form.

It has been exciting thus far seeing the students from last school year and how they have grown, as well as beginning to meet all the new students, including the kindergarten class. I look forward to working with your student(s).
