Message from the Principal and Assistant Principal
Dear Hillcrest and Pine Avenue Families,
As Thanksgiving approaches, we are reminded of the power of gratitude and the partnerships that make our schools thrive. At Hillcrest and Pine Avenue, we are deeply thankful for the families who entrust us with their children each day. Education is not a journey we walk alone—it is a shared commitment between home and school, built on trust, communication, and care.
We celebrate the countless ways parents partner with us: supporting learning at home, encouraging curiosity, and working alongside teachers and paraprofessionals to nurture growth. Together, we create a foundation where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their potential.
This season of gratitude is more than a holiday—it is a reminder of the daily blessings found in our classrooms, hallways, and playgrounds. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve, to teach, and to grow with your children.
From our Hillcrest and Pine Avenue family to yours, we wish you a joyful and restful Thanksgiving filled with love and appreciation.
Your partner in education,
Dr. Konowalow and Ms. Jaeck

Why the Education Benefits form Matters
There is still time for families to complete the Education Benefits Form—and doing so makes a big difference for our school community. This form helps determine our eligibility for important federal funding through the Title I program.
Title I funds directly support students by providing additional reading and math instruction, small group support from certified Reading and Math teachers, and differentiated learning opportunities led by trained paraprofessionals. These resources allow us to meet students where they are and ensure every child receives the support they need to grow.
Even if you don’t think you qualify, completing the form helps our school maintain access to these vital services. Thank you for taking a few minutes to support our students and staff in such a meaningful way. Please see the link below.

School Highlights
This past week was full of joy and community at both of our elementary buildings! Students were honored during our Trimester Awards, recognizing their hard work, growth, and character. It was inspiring to see so many smiles as we celebrated their accomplishments together.
Meanwhile, our first graders gathered for Friends-giving, sharing food, laughter, and gratitude with classmates. The event was a beautiful reminder of the friendships and connections that make our schools feel like family.
We are proud of our students and grateful for the partnerships that make these moments possible.
