Introducing Garfield's Principal and Assistant Principal
Hello Garfield Tiger Families,
I am pleased to announce Eric Jennings will be the Principal of Garfield Elementary! He will be joined by Dr. Adriana Pinto as the Assistant Principal. Together, Mr. Jennings and Dr. Pinto bring diverse experiences and skills to lead the Garfield Elementary staff to support the high standards of learning and growth for our Tiger students.
Eric Jennings joined Everett Public Schools in 2013 as a special education teacher at HM Jackson High School. In 2018, Eric transitioned to the role of assistant principal at Everett High School. During the 2021-22 school year, Eric served as interim principal of Everett High School. In 2023, Eric transitioned to elementary assistant principal where he served at Garfield and Whittier Elementary. In 2025, Eric became a full-time assistant principal at Garfield Elementary. Eric earned his Bachelor of Arts in recreation with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation services from Western Washington University, his master’s in education from the University of Washington and his principal certification from Seattle Pacific University.
Dr. Adriana Pinto joins Everett Public Schools from Salt Lake City School District where she has been an assistant principal. Prior to that, she was a professional learning leader at the University of Utah Reading Clinic and a literacy coach and special education teacher at the Salt Lake City School District. She holds an ESL endorsement and is a bilingual educator who is passionate about fostering collective efficacy and ensuring all students, particularly those historically underserved, are supported to grow and succeed. Dr. Pinto earned her Bachelor of Arts from Adams State University, her Master of Education at the University of Utah and her doctorate in leadership and policy from the University of Utah.

SUN Bucks, also known as Summer EBT, is a program that provides a one-time $120 benefit per year to help families buy groceries for their school-aged children when meals aren't available at school during the summer months. Nearly 550,000 Washington children received SUN Bucks over the summer of 2025.
Your child will be automatically enrolled for Sun Bucks if at any point in the 2025-2026 school year, either:
Your child was enrolled at a school that offers the National School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program AND individually approved for free or reduced-price meals at a school.
Your child was age 8-18 and a member of a household that receives benefits from TANF or SNAP.
If you believe you may be eligible for benefits, there is still time to enroll. Families may apply for Sun Bucks by filling out a Free & Reduced Meal application (online or at their child’s school), or by visiting the SUN Bucks website.
Sign up for text alerts to be notified of SUN Bucks updates, benefit details, important reminders and answers to questions. For questions about the SUN Bucks program or your benefits, please call the SUN Bucks Contact Center at 833-543-3230 (TTY: 800-833-6348) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday (except observed holidays).
