Welcome April!
Dear CFBISD Families,
Spring is here, and April is such an exciting time for our multilingual learners! We are incredibly proud of the hard work and growth our students have shown this year—their progress is a testament to their dedication and your support.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent Parent, Family, and Community event. Seeing our community come together to celebrate our students was truly the highlight of our season!
As we enter the final months of the school year and testing season, your partnership at home is more important than ever. You can help your child finish strong by:
Prioritizing Attendance: Every day in class counts!
Celebrating Language: Keep reading and talking together in both your home language and English.
Staying Positive: A little encouragement goes a long way.
Thank you for being such an essential part of our team. We wish you and your family a wonderful April!
With appreciation,
CFBISD Multilingual Department

This spring, all students in grades 3-12 will take the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR). These assessments measure how well students are learning grade-level material and help teachers plan instruction. Families can support their children by reviewing the released tests and practicing with online tools. Ask your child’s teacher for the specific testing dates on your campus.
You can help your child be successful by making sure they:
Get a good night’s sleep before each testing day
Eat a healthy breakfast
Arrive at school on time
Bring a positive attitude and do their best
Encourage your child to stay calm and confident. They have worked hard all year, and we are proud of everything they have accomplished!
Graduation Toolkit Available Online
On the Student Resources Page on txel.org, families can find information about high school graduation requirements in Texas. The page includes a link to TEA’s Graduation Toolkit, which explains what students need to earn a high school diploma in the state.
The toolkit describes the graduation programs available to students and the classes they must take. It also explains important tests, such as the STAAR end-of-course exams. Parents and families can learn about endorsements, which are areas of study like STEM, arts, or career programs. The toolkit also outlines steps students should take each year of high school. In addition, the toolkit includes checklists and college and career resources to help families plan for life after high school.
Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD welcomes all students and is committed to fostering an inclusive and safe learning environment. We prioritize educating and protecting all children, regardless of immigration status.
