UIL Area D Marching Contest
The UIL Area D Marching Contest is on Saturday, October 31st at The Pfield. We will not attend the football game on Friday, October 30th. Due to our early call time on Saturday, we have received permission to go home and rest before our long day on Saturday. We are very thankful for the support. Good luck to our other DHS organizations on Friday night!
Please sign up to volunteer for Area contest here.
Here are some important links with information about the UIL Area D Marching Contest
- Rules, Itinerary, and Bus Seating List
- Ticket sales- tickets are also available at the gate for $10 cash
- Lineup of Bands
- Alternate Travel Form- must be turned in by Friday, October 30th to pick up your student after our final performance on Saturday. If not turned in before the end of the school day (4:30pm), your student will be expected to ride the bus back.
The top 12 bands out of 32 competing will advance from prelims to finals to perform again at night. This is a very competitive event as all bands had to qualify for this contest by earning a first division rating at the region level. The top 6 bands from finals will advance to the UIL State Marching Contest on November 11th at the Alamodome.
State Shirts Link
Should we qualify to the State Marching Band Contest, a link to purchase state shirts will be updated on the newsletter and sent through Parentsquare the same night we qualify. I apologize for any late texts you may receive as a result of this. The link for state shirts will close at 11:59pm on Sunday, November 1st. This means that the link will be open for 24 hours or less. The store must close by this point in order for the orders for state shirts to be fulfilled before the state marching contest.

The judges are watching and listening to us with an open mind and a fair heart.
Placements and trophies are secondary to the feeling of SUPERIOR performances.
