CRANE R-III JOB OPENINGS

Communication, Communication, Communication!

Open communication among teachers and parents is so important! If you are concerned about something with your student's grade(s), schoolwork, or classroom experience, please reach out to the teacher through Rooms or email. If you are having trouble getting Rooms on your phone, let me (Mrs. Mease) know, and I will do my best to help! All teachers' emails are the same (last name, first initial of the first name, followed by @crane.k12.mo.us). I hope teachers are communicating with you as well!

Eligibility and 2nd Semester Grade Checks

Any 6th through 12th grade students who had any F's at the end of 1st semester are ineligible to participate in any MSHSAA sanctioned sports and extra-curriculars for the rest of this school year.

Students also have to be eligible at the 6 week eligibility grade checks to be able to participate in athletics and extra-curricular activities including field trips. Due to the week off from weather, the most recent grace week was extended to the last week of February and the 6 week eligibility list will be updated first thing tomorrow morning, March 4th. Students who have F's when grades are finalized tonight, Monday, March 3rd will be ineligible until the next 6 week grade check on Friday, March 28th.

Progress reports will also be sent home with students and emailed out on the following dates: Thursday, March 6th, Thursday, April 17th, and Friday, May 9th (these progress reports are not eligibility grade checks).

HANDBOOK POLICY REMINDERS HANDBOOK POLICY REMINDERS

Cell Phone & Electronic Devices Policy

Cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, iPads, and similar electronic devices are banned during the instructional day.

  • If a student’s phone is confiscated, that student’s parent or guardian must pick up the phone at the school.

  • Any cell phone policy offense beyond the first offense will result in ISS or OSS.

  • Upon the 2nd offense, the offending student's phone MUST be turned into the office in the morning before school for the remainder of the school year.

  • Parents may apply to the building principal for hardship exceptions that must be approved by administration. These will be limited to medical issues, approved by administration, and the phone will remain in the office for the student to access as deemed necessary if granted hardship.

  • Students must leave devices at home, in vehicles, or check them into the office each morning where a secure location and signature will be required for the student to drop off and pick up their device.

  • Landline phones are available in offices for parents to contact students for legitimate reasons and are also provided in classrooms for teacher use in case of emergencies.

Field Trip Policy

Students must meet the following requirements to be allowed to participate in any field trip:

  • Be eligible within the 6 week eligibility grade check period

  • 90% attendance or better for the semester at the time of the trip

  • NO F’s at the time of the trip

  • No discipline referrals outside of tardies/detention within the 4 weeks leading up to the trip

Parents or guardians must sign off, giving permission for the student to be gone from their classes. The principal has the option to allow a student to go on any field trip, or withdraw permission for a student to go, if a valid reason is presented. Field Trip permission slips must be turned in by 3:30 p.m. of the due date listed on the permission slip form.

Let Me Know!

If you ever have questions, comments, or concerns, reach out to me, and I will do my best to help. Email is probably best as I check it quite often, but phone calls and in-person visits are always welcome as well! My email is measet@crane.k12.mo.us, and my office number is 417-723-5300. Many people have my cell phone number, and I don't mind receiving texts or phone calls at that number, however, I'm not going to post it on social media! I am happy to serve our school and community.
