This Month in Classroom Champions is all about Goal Setting
We are so excited to partner our K-5 students with Christian Taylor. Christian Taylor is a two-time Olympian and two-time gold medalists, as well as four-time World Champion in the sport of track and field.
This month in Classroom Champions, we will focus on Goal Setting. One of the best predictors of academic performance is the ability to set goals, make a plan to reach them, and stay focused on them despite obstacles and distractions. Goal setting is a part of critical thinking and good decision making.
Our Citizen of the Month trait for October will be focused one students who have set strong goals and is working to achieve them.

Acadience Testing
This month our K-5 students will take our Acadience Reading Inventory. This assessment will provide our teachers and school MTSS Team (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) to help students who are struggling with reading skills and provide enrichment opportunities for students who are performing above level on reading skills. Teachers will be sharing your child's performance on this during Parent-Teacher Conferences in November.
We encourage our students to get a good night's rest and eat a healthy breakfast and to try their best on this test.
Scholastic Book Fair
Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair will take place in our Grandview Elementary Library the week of October 23rd. Your child's teacher will share with you when your child's class will be attending the Book Fair.
