Outdoor play

Outdoor play is an important part of our curriculum. Please make every effort to make sure that your child has warm clothing, mittens and hats for outdoor play every day.

Also, please label your child's clothing with their name, so that any lost items can be returned to their owner!

We love to Celebrate!

On Friday, October 31, our classes will celebrate Halloween. Here are some tips for families to make the school event more enjoyable for everyone:

- no weapons or masks permitted

- no full class treats will be distributed. Even though we appreciate the thought, these will be returned with your child a the end of the day

- students in grades 1-6 can change into their costumes at lunchtime. Kindergarten students may come to school dressed in their costume, as it is often easier for everyone!

- your child's teacher will let you know what special activities are planned for their class on that afternoon

School Bus Safety

Please remind your children of the importance of bus safety. Our drivers have an incredible responsibility to get everyone home safe and sound. We are experiencing a lot of bus issues right now.

Please remind your child of the following;

- be seated at all times and only stand when it is time to exit the bus

-no sticking heads/arms out of bus windows

-no yelling or inappropriate language

-if your child has an assigned seat on the bus, it is because they have been identified as acting inappropriately. If the behaviour continues, they will NOT be permitted to ride the bus

Allergies

We have allergies to nuts and nut products. If your child has an allergy, please let thier teacher know so that our lists can be updated. We are also scent aware - please do not wear or allow your child to wear heavily scented products in the building.

Personal Items at School

A friendlty reminder to our families that students should avoid bringing personal items to school - if these things go missing, it can be heartbreaking!

Also, please remember that the NLSchools policy regarding personal electronics in K-6. These items should not be present in the building. We have Chromebooks for student use to enahnce learning in the classroom, but personal devices are often distracting and should be left at home!
