A Message from the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Families,
๐พ A Strong Week at L.V. Stockard
Last week was an exciting and productive week at L.V. Stockard. From classrooms to extracurriculars, our students and teachers continue to show up stronger each day. We were proud to welcome the District AVID Coordinator to campus as part of our annual AVID Certification visit, and our students and staff did an outstanding job showcasing the meaningful learning and strong systems in place. Great things are happening at Stockard, and we are grateful to our students and teachers for their hard work, focus, and commitment to growth.
Read on to learn more about the upcoming events and important reminders for this week.
๐ Final Basketball Game of the Season
We invite and encourage all students, parents, families, teachers, faculty, and staff to come out on Monday, February 9 to cheer on our Girls and Boys Basketball teams as they play their final game of the season. Letโs pack the stands and show our Panther pride. Please see the flyer below for game details.
๐ Valentineโs Day Dance
On Friday, February 13, our Cheerleaders and Math Club will host the Valentineโs Day Dance. Tickets are on sale daily during lunches. We look forward to a fun and festive evening for our students.
๐ฏ Attendance, Punctuality, and Student Focus
As always, attendance is of the utmost importance. We ask families to ensure students arrive on time to school every day. Additionally, students are expected to remain in class and arrive on time to all classes. These habits are key to student success and help maximize learning time.
๐ Tutoring and Upcoming Assessments
With only six instructional days remaining before our next round of testing, we strongly encourage students to speak with their teachers about after-school tutoring. Tutoring provides additional support in a smaller setting and helps students stay on track toward meeting their academic goals.
๐
School Closed for Presidents Day
Please remember that all Dallas ISD campuses will be closed on Monday, February 16 in observance of Presidents Day.
๐ Thank You for Your Partnership
Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work together to help every Panther grow, learn, and succeed.
๐ซ One Team. One Dream. Panther Pride!

STUDENT SAFETY - COLD WEATHER
Families, the temperatures have dropped and our mornings are getting colder. Please make sure students come dressed in layers so they can stay warm during arrival and dismissal. Coats, hats, gloves, and other warm clothing are encouraged.
A quick reminder that blankets and similar items are not allowed at school, and hoodies without zippers are still not permitted under the district dress code. Students may wear coats and jackets, but they may not wear hoods on their heads while on campus, and hats and beanies must be removed once inside the building.

OUR ATTENDANCE GOAL IS 95% OR HIGHER....
Strive for NO MORE THAN than 5 absences per school year
We kindly ask families to continue prioritizing daily attendance whenever possible. Due to recent winter weather closures, our campus lost nearly a full week of instruction, making every school day especially important moving forward.
Regular attendance has a direct impact on student learning, progress toward academic goals, and overall success. When students are present and engaged each day, they are better positioned to keep pace with instruction and avoid learning gaps.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to welcoming students back and starting the week strong.
